Adding To The Noise || Semi-Closed
Casey sat beside his bed in the guest bedroom, looking down at him with an expression that was a mix of a suppressed sadness and an understanding. It hurt her to see him like this, but she knew now that he was no longer in pain and at least that brought some sort of silver lining to the whole thing. He was in a happier place now, she knew it, she could feel it in her bones, or at least...she could hope that he was.
Her tears had been long shed, a numbness washing over her as she held Khan in her lap, the small pup not even really knowing what had become of his companion. The rest of the animals were new, they didn't know Vader like Khan and Casey did. Khan and Casey had grown up with that dog, been through everything together, coming to the circus, falling apart, everything Vader had been by their side and now it was just...them.
She didn't know how long she sat there before she pulled out her phone, her fingers finding the contact before her brain even caught up with what she was doing. Adam. The only one who cared for this dog as she did, the one that had spent time with Vader time and time again, that's who she needed right now, so that's who she called. Pressing the phone against her ear she waited for him to pick up.
