anytime he flirts with anyone, you visibly gag (to which he'll just tease you and say that you're jealous which makes you gag further)
you swear up and down that you two are sworn ENEMIES, but he likes to go around and tell everyone that you're secretly dating and to not tell anyone
(this ofc gets out cause no one can keep a goddamn secret to save their lives and oh ho ho lemme tell ya. When you found out he was telling people you two were secretly dating, you gave him a black eye that lasted at least a week)

at first, you are bitching up a storm and he won't stop smiling, but when the challenge actually starts, you two are a monster of a team. Everyone is definitely scared of you two (Owen makes a comment that you two make an awesome power couple and you glare at him)

I’m thinking that Duncan being Duncan, he 100% clowns you for being so spacey and distracted so easily
if you pop off on him though, you’ll earn some of his respect and he’ll lay off on teasing you so much
if you end up crying or getting upset about it, at first he just calls you a crybaby, but once he realizes that you can’t actually help the way you act, he feels bad. He probably doesn’t outright say “I’m sorry,” but he’ll definitely show you he’s sorry in his own ways. i.e. throwing challenges for you if you’re on opposite teams, giving you parts of his reward(s) if his team wins, carving you something from a piece of wood, etc.
this doesn’t mean he completely stops teasing you though
definitely distracts you on purpose if you’re on opposite teams

if you guys ever have to sit down for long periods of time and you start getting antsy, he’ll give you his hand to play with his fingers, his pocket knife to start carving stuff, or his arm so you can start drawing on him, anything really
he doesn’t even realize he starts liking you until the guys start making fun of him for it
one time Heather yelled at you for talking so much and of course he stands up for you, but after that, he notices you try not to talk as much. This probably only makes you even more fidgety though
he pulls you aside at the end of the day when everyone is off doing their own thing and reassures you that you talk just the perfect amount. He also tells you that you have a nice voice but if you tell anyone he said that, he’ll have to kill you. Definitely lets you ramble and rant to him about literally anything. He’d much rather listen than speak
if you’re impulsive, he’ll definitely keep you in check. Then again...he’s pretty impulsive himself...sigh...you two get into trouble a lot
if there’s ever any memory challenges, he definitely cheats to help you if you want it. Yes he’d risk winning just for you shh
overall, he doesn’t mind that you have ADHD and eventually comes to find it quite endearing <3
"What's up with you, princess?" Ah, there's that pet name again. He sure loves to throw that around.
"Nothing," you grumble, hurriedly wiping your face and hoping your eyes aren’t too puffy. You tense when he suddenly sits down beside you, green and black filling the corner of your eye.
“Hey…are you crying?” he asks softly, softer than you’ve ever heard his voice before.
“What? No. Of course not. Why would I be?” you snap a little too defensively. Ugh, you knew you should’ve hidden somewhere better than behind the girls’ cabin. He doesn’t reply for a moment, making the air around you silent, the only thing filling said silence is the crickets that are chirping.
“Who was it?”
“What?” you ask surprised, finally turning to look at him only to find him not looking at you anymore. He’s looking out in front of him with his hands balled into fists, his eyes squinting towards the lake like it personally offended him. Eh, it probably did.
“Are you deaf? I asked who made you cry,” he snaps, finally bringing his eyes to yours. You stare into his green eyes, letting out a sigh when you realize you’re not going to be able to get out of this one. He won’t stop until he finds out who. Luckily for you, it’s a girl; otherwise, he probably would’ve beaten the dude half to the death.
“It was just Heather. And no, I didn’t cry in front of her. She doesn’t know that she actually got to me,” you mumble, sniffling as you use your sleeve to wipe your nose. It’s gross but you don’t really care right now.
“Heather? Oh, c’mon, (Y/n). Don’t let her get to you.”
“As if she hasn’t gotten under your skin before! She gets under everyone’s skin! I don’t know how she has any friends.” He laughs at that, suddenly wrapping his arm around your shoulder and pulling you into his side. You blush as you lean into him, finding comfort in his warmth on the cool night.
“That’s the zinger. She doesn’t actually have any.”
“Mm, I suppose you’re right.” You smile and wipe your face once more before taking a deep breath and letting it go. “Hey, thanks for cheering me up.”
He grunts and turns to look down at you. “Don’t mention it, princess. I only did it because I need to make sure my teammate is in top shape for tomorrow’s challenge,” he defends. You swear you see his cheeks gain color, but he turns his head away before you could really check.
“Hm, I’m sure,” you whisper as you grin up at him. He huffs and rolls his eyes but doesn’t make any further comments. You hum and kiss his cheek before laying your head on his shoulder.
You hope that if you don’t win the money, it’ll at least be him.
