deciding to post my total drama season list from favourites to least favourites. i don't really hate any season but i def have preferences...
01 . TOTAL DRAMA ISLAND
you cannot beat the og imo, it has problems for sure but it's just SO nostalgic
02 . TOTAL DRAMA WORLD TOUR
it's not really "amazing" but i'm quite fond of the songs. i am annoyed with how they butchered a few of the women though, just so they can be alejandro's pawns (leshawna would NEVER) but it's not the worst. seeing noah & cody again was nice (biased)
03 . REVENGE OF THE ISLAND
is this a hot take? idk! but it's mainly higher because of my mike bias, LMAO. really cool concept imo and the mutant animals are objectively really funny
04 . REBOOT
glad to finally some canon gay characters! and they're actually written pretty decently which is a win in my books, as it's so hard to find good rep especially when one's a feminine man. some really cool concepts were added to it and it didn't just feel like a rehash of the OG or just basically stealing its ideas but worse. chris having a new VA is jarring as hell though
05 . ACTION
another really cool concept! from what i've seen people hate trents new personality, but i really like how they leaned into him having OCD even if it's not written the best. lower because i just really hate the start of the duncan / gwen / courtney love triangle stuff. it just got worse from here. but action did flesh out a few characters!
06 . PAHKITEW ISLAND
don't really hate it? it's just a nothing burger season and most of the characters i feel nothing for. noah being back is cool but other wise meh. the characters i did like were dave, jasmine & shawn. i haven't watched it in a while so maybe my rewatch will be better but it most likely will not be moving from its place here
07 . RIDONCULOUS RACE
ok. i'm not like a "oh why did you make an obviously gay character straight ew ew ew nemma sucks" i just think how they made noah act was really insufferable and out of character for him. the concept of ridoncolous race is pretty cool but they just butchered characters so bad
08 . ALL STARS
this season. this season grinds my gears so badly. i love mal and find him really endearing but the season is just really badly written in my opinion even if i like some ideas from it. all the returning characters were made to be super lame to make mal look cooler which is really annoying. also the whole button thing with mike where he gets rid of his alters is genuinely just so insensitive and not how DID works at all. scott x courtney is really cute though
good LORD that took a while to write but it was fun!!! totally up to hearing peoples personal opinions on seasons and why you agree or disagree!!
