I'm maybe trollhunters projecting, but remember, in season 3, when Blinky discovered that Strickler was back and said it was not a coincidence that he was back the minute Gunmar took over trollmarket

And Viren is planning on going back to Katolis with Aaravos' staff [in his mind, it would prevent Claudia from freeing the elf even when she finds his prison]

But the jail is in Katolis

The king and his friends went on a journey to find this prison to prevent Claudia and her father from finding it first and releasing the star touched elf

But the enemy who started it all is coming back?

Now?

When they secured the prison in the castle?

With that elf's staff?

Coincidence?

I've been thinking about this painting that Harrow walks over to after deciding to help the Queens of Duren and who/what it could be depicting.

The easy answer would be that it depicts King Atticus, Harrow reflecting on his fathers words to be a Just King over everything while being face with a hard decision. He's leading a battle of some kind, rearing his horse triumphantly in debris.

But looking closer I do not believe this depicts King Atticus.

The person depicted on the horse is most certainly a Katolian King, related to Harrow be it is father, grand father or another member someone in his line but from what we've seen of Atticus and what has been implied of him shows that he lived a boring reign, Harrow in the books said that he had hoped to have a boring reign,to be there for his sons as his father was there until he was of age, for me it implies he had hoped it would be like his father's.

I dare say the sword the man in the painting wields looks a lot like the one that belonged to Harrow before being turned into a crown but not similar enough that it would have been passed down/repurposed from Atticus.

But regardless this is a Katolian battle. Most of the soldiers surrounding him are also Katolian given their helmet designs (still different but military and knight uniforms change all the time meaning this was a long time ago probably).

But there's more there seems to be people, not just soldiers, they are dressed in white, their heads reeled back to look at this King hovering over them, literally on his high horse, cast in the shadows while the sunlight reaches the king.

I'd say first option is maybe Neolandian. Diamonds in their clothes, hair coverings. Neolandia in the past was known for its scarcity before becoming a trading kingdom. We know little to nothing of Neolandia's war history (if any) so perhaps this was a battle that sparked Neolandia to begin training its forces just as much at Katolis had once they had the resources.

But another option could be Durians. Duren once had an injusut Queen who was overthrown, we know that there was a battle called 'Battle at Berylgarten' that possibly involves Katolis given that Callum is learning about it (though princely duties may require him to learn about all the human kingdoms in general so who knows).

Duren's also are known for their white head/hair coverings and look more similar to what is depicted style wise

This very well could also just be depicting a moment in the mage wars, where Kingdoms were still struggling to rise from the ashes and fighting for the spot in the harsh West.

You know, the show kind of hinted that Katolis is only 300 years old.

In the first episode of season 1, Callum tells Claudia that the tree she almost ran into had been there for 300 years.

While it could have been planted at any point during Katolis' history, it makes sense for the tree to have been planted when the courtyard, and by extension, the rest of the castle itself, was built.
