Week 2: Accident/Choice

After freeing the babies from the Darklands it took Walter a while to get use to his Troll form 24/7 and living with a soft human. One night he has a nightmare lashing out and wakes up to hearing Barbara call his name. He accidentally scratch her arm in his sleep. Walt of course feeling extremely guilty takes care of her. After that night they talk it through and take some precautions.

Accident? (Bad) Choice? ....a little bit of both!

In this case - kind of a Trollhunter!Strickler AU - the accidentally malfunctioning amulet makes different Strickler versions that are all going out of their way to make very bad choices...and it seems, they are as cringe as the different Jims in the,show.... poor real Strickler, who just wanted a nice romantic date night with Barbara... i give you a version without text and closeups of the different Walts in all their crispy glory...

StrickLake Month 2026 Accident/Choise (and this case I think it's little bit of both) :D

After the visit of the strange guests, Walter and Barbara were in a slightly agitated state of mind, and didn't really know what to think about the whole thing. Well, but the matter had been taken care of and the guests had left and at least for now it was peaceful. Eventually one thing led to another and they had a great time testing the comfort of Walter's bed. But it didn't happen without consequences. Because a few days later Barbara noticed that something was not right with herself, so she decided to investigate the matter. And since the symptoms pointed in a certain direction, she went on a shopping trip to the pharmacy. Later, she took several tests to make sure. And since they all looked positive, she had to accept the fact that she was pregnant. She didn't really know what to think about it, because this wasn't really planned and since Walter had said that the replacements couldn't have offspring, they had assumed that this couldn't happen. Well, now it had happened and Barbara had some pretty good news for Walter. It would be another matter how Walter would react to that. Barbara was half excited and scared and she was nervous when she finally walked up to Walter with the test stick in her hand, "um.. so what, I have something to tell you," Barbara started a little uncertainly and felt her face start to redden. "So?", Walter asked confusedly and looked at Barbara whose cheeks were flushed red and who was twirling something in her fingers. "So, how can I say this now, but... so what... I'm pregnant," Barbara finally managed to say, "I wasn't sure myself at first, so I took quite a few tests and they all came back positive," she added. "W..WHAT!", Walter gasped and looked at Barbara with wide eyes, "it shouldn't be possible... so when... I can't, it's impossible," she fumbled, breathing heavily. "Believe me, it seems possible and I've definitely never been with anyone else but you," Barbara said and began to doubt a little whether Walter wanted to be a father, "and I thought I'd keep this, it doesn't matter if you're with me or not, I've already raised one child once, so it'll work out the second time too," he finally said decisively. "No, I'm not leaving you, I'm going to be with you always, I'm just worried about you and how this will affect you, because people like me, changelings, can't have children, usually, so I don't know how challenging this will be for you," Walter finally said, because he definitely wouldn't leave Barbara to her own devices, he wouldn't be like Jim's father, who had just left and never returned. Barbara was silent and looked at Walter who still had a look of fear, confusion and happiness on his face. Finally he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Walter, hugging him tightly, "thank you, darling," he breathed and felt a great wave of relief and emotion pass over him. He had been afraid that he would have to be alone again, but now he knew that Walter would always be by his side and that made him happy. And maybe the hormones were exaggerating his feelings a little. "Well, well, it's okay," Walter said and returned the hug, realizing how much this really affected Barbara and that she didn't want to be alone, "huh, I'm going to be a father," he breathed, moved and feeling happy. He spun Barbara around once and they looked at the test stick together again, which looked positive. "And now we have a lot to do," Barbara laughed and lightly stroked her stomach, where nothing was visible yet, but in a few months, she definitely would. Walter placed his hand on Barbara's hand and looked into her eyes, full of warmth and love. A few weeks later, they had an ultrasound because they both wanted to monitor the pregnancy closely, just in case, because it was so unexpected and of course Walter wanted to keep Barbara safe.

By to way, they are going to have twin girls. :D

DARLING!!! Guess who‘s back from JAILLLLL!!!!!

And I have brought you a fine meal.

A younger Krubera/Stalking hybrid Walter from another dimension accidentally stops by and he thinks Barbara is a very ♡beautiful human♡. But it seems that our Walter does not like competition. Even if it's himself who he is competing with.

Okay, so basically Walter and Barbara did try to open a portal since in my post!ROTT Walter does connect more to his magical side and learns he is quite powerful. Imma catch you all up on that sometime but yeah. Barbara learns some magic as well. But basically Walter and Claire find a spell in a magical book that they got from an adventure, said spell is supposed to widen the range or their portal magic in various ways. Their plan originally was to make a portal to out of space because...Walter does have a little ego that tells him he could...and Angor mocks him occasionally.

Well, that didn't turn out as they wanted and Walter kind of accidentally messes up the portal unintentionally, causing a fairly young hybrid to fall out of it. AU!Walter is smitten with the angelic human that he looks upon first wich is of course Barbara. I tried to show in my art that Barbara is still a little flustered since it is basically still a version of Walter but she is kinda annoyed because AU!Walter is...very rocky and self absorbed, he is a royal where he comes from actually. And I also wanted to show it in the way he grabs Barbara arm because she is rather unwilling to give her hand for a kiss. Originally he had his tail slightly around Barbaras waist but that was a bit to much and wouldn't be that charming annoyingly behaviour but more over the line so I didn't add that.

The AU!Walter has happened because of a different picture I have in my drafts and I just really like to draw Walter with different ears and features. But as you can see he didn't quite fit into the style...

But I am beyond trying to make my art look perfect, sometimes it is clunky and stiff, sometimes line art is wobbly or looks weird, and anatomy is my arch nemisis so yeah. Also, BARBARA WHY ARE YOU SO HARD TO DRAWWWWWWW.

I can draw weird troll creatures but apparently Barbara if just a different breed entirely, she just doesn't want to be drawn correctly. So yeah, I tried the new style on her but apparently she just doesn't want to be drawn correctly.

Also, forgive me for being late but I thought the round up was this evening but it's still morning for me hehe.

I also apologise for my absence, I had really bad mental health but I am working on it and trying to read all the fanfictions that were created or went on. And a special thank you to @pinkytoothlesso11 who kept me updated despite my incompetence to answer 🫪🩷

Anyways, I will try to do every prompt this year and I might post the concepts I already had for last year.

Stricklake Month, Week 1: Time Loop

*Oh Baby!

All you wanna do is da—*

Walter reached over and chucked the alarm clock across the room. Never before had he more hated Will’s work.

“Walt!” Barbara sat up behind him, “What was that about!?”

He sighed and sat forward, resting his face in his hands. Barbara rubbed his back. It had stopped being comforting ten resets ago.

“Barbara…will you believe me if I tell you that the day is repeating?”

She was quiet. She always was.

“I’ve done this thirty times already.” He continued, not caring that he was off script. The result would be the same. “No mater what I do it repeats and I am getting really sick of that song.”

She was still quiet.

“Fill me in.”

He sat up, “What?”

“You say the day is repeating,” She insisted, “And I want to believe you but I need more information. Do you know what is causing it? Why do you still remember but I don’t? Does anyone else remember? Is it a changeling thing?”

Walter’s stomach flipped and he chuckled weakly. Then he laughed. He flopped back against the pillow, laughing until he felt tears.

“I-I don’t actually know much.” He finally choked out, “A trickster troll is causing it but I don’t actually know how. He’s using an artifact I’ve never seen. But I think it’s my armor that protects me. When he resets the day I activate my helmet and I remember everything but everyone else forgets. No one else remembers and…and I’m so tired Barbara. I just want it to be over…”

Barbara was quiet for a moment before she lay back down against his shoulder.

“Let’s just relax for a bit,” she whispered, “If the day’s repeating then we have plenty of time. We’ll relax for now and then we’ll talk to the others about what to do.”

He didn’t have it in him to argue. It didn’t matter if they were late to the planetarium. Nothing was going to change.

AN: I really wanted to do a proper chapter for this prompt but between starting my Masters degree and it being the busiest week of the year at work this was all I had time for. Just know that there is a full chapter coming eventually.
