there are many subtle indicators, but the most obvious one is:

No matter how big his denial may be, Ronan never lies.

idk if it's gonna work out, because they both have major issues they should deal with first (especially Adam)

but they both need somebody to love them, and Ronan obviously cares about Adam (though he still lives in denial)

Kavinsky... dude... he had such a WARNING-DANGEROUS-GUY-STAY-AT-LEAST-50-METRES-AWAY-UNLESS-YOU-WANT-TO-DIE-IN-A-CAR-FIRE-OR-FROM-DRUG-OVERDOSE vibe to him ... also... the sexual tension between him and Ronan jesus fucking christ it almost made me pant his relationship with ronan was so weird and complicated like idk kavinsky could either fuck ronan or kill him and it would make no difference to him idk idk such people make me really uneasy i still dont actually understand him so idk but damn he was a good addition to this book, god knows he was a very important part of ronan's arc

the Gray Man..... wow now THIS is fucked... because his life has been terrible and he's so done SO MANY AWFUL AND INEXCUSABLE THINGS and yet he doesn't try to justify his deeds, and no one else--including Maura--tries to do it for him

he just accepts it, and everyone around him is like "oh okay a hit man hey did you kill anyone oh you dont want to kidnap anyone thats cool i guess"
