Current Mood: Bitter we didn’t get The Elementalists 3
I just finished rereading The Elementalists 2 and I really want to see more of Theia. She’s such an intriguing character—she’s a Source, she became grief-stricken after Todd’s death and tried to resurrect her murdered husband and Alma bound her to stop her from doing that. And she spent years by herself and felt lost and lonely.
If there is another book someday, I would love to hear more about what Theia was doing during the years her magick was sealed away. I’d also love to see what her relationship with the other Sources was like.
open heart 2 is the only thing that can save us now
look how beautiful she is, i just might cry
The Elementalists, Book 2
I'm way too excited for Book 2. How excited? My dumb ass has started theorizing. I haven't done this since ES 😂
The focal point of this Book is going to be Air. PB has been dropping hints left and right about this. Throughout Book 1's finale and even with the Book 2, Chapter 1 summary.
What we know about Book 2's Big Bad:
"Gust of wind." "Twister." "Cyclone." This is what this guy's real power is.
Next, let's look at Griffin in chapter 19:
He's going to Tornado Alley and his Prophecy O's warns him about a "storm warning."
We were all focused on Atlas' "Beware-" message, but what if it was in our face the whole time?
While in the diamond scene in Penn Square, (I'll admit this one is a bit of a reach because I'm not sure if MC only says this line if you're with Beckett), MC says
"Gone like the wind."
Coincidence or just teasing Beckett?
Speaking of Beckett, here he is on the cover, wielding lightning/electricity, which is heavily tied to Air magick.
Many of us have already guessed that his second attunement will reveal itself this book and it will most likely be Air. He regularly uses Air spells and the rest of the squad already have the other first tier elements covered, so he gets Air to round it out. (ETA #1 - We're going to meet Beckett and everyone else's families 😱)
Finally, from PB themselves...
This is what got me started down this rabbit hole. I was going through random screenshots and saw I had this from their IG account a few weeks back.
"Blown away." It's all coming together now.
And here we have Book 2, Chapter 1's summary. At first, I thought it was an ode to that 80s Scorpions song "Winds of Change," but looking at everything above, I'm pretty much expecting Hurricane-level winds trying to blow us all away.
ETA #2 - From today's blog post:
😱😱😱
I think Aster's role is going to grow exponentially, as well. Obviously she's on campus now, but I wonder if the Big Bad had something to do with the Wand Wars or if we're going need her Wood Nymph abilities to help keep us all rooted (see what I did there? Ha 😏.)
Sorry if this reads like a flaming pile of dog shit. I'm just really excited 😂😂😂
