👁 What song describes how your character sees the world?

Penny Lane, by The Beatles! That's their perception of the world: very cozy and personal with little stories to be found everywhere.

💔 Your characters heart was just broken. What song plays in the background?

In This Shirt, by the Irrepressibles. It's one of my top ten sad songs mostly on a purely vibes level and I just feel like it fits this self-insert. It also makes me want to write lots of angst about my OTPs.

🌙 Random song that fits a scene from your story!

Hey Ya! by Outkast was playing on Val and my first date in a roller skating rink!!! There are a lot of songs that played that night but that was the one playing when I first started figuring out how to skate properly.

Self-Insert Week: 6/10 (Teacher Echo, The Magic School Bus)

Okay, self-insert week is over but I still have half of these posts to go, so I’m just going to finish the series! Sorry for the eye strain colour on this one, 

Self-Insert: Teacher Echo 

Described In Three Words: Magical, energetic, playful

Trait They Share Most With Me: Throughout my life, I occasionally have strangers approach me on the street and gush about my “bright spirit.” This self-insert has that same bright spirit. They’re attentive and they just... draw people in and make them comfortable enough to talk about what’s troubling them. 

How They’re Different From Me: They revel in their bright spirit, whereas I’ve always resented that je-ne-said-quoi that makes strangers come up to me and tell them about their divorces. This self-insert loves to help! They’re here for everyone! They’re also magical in an ambiguous way that matches the Magic School Bus universe. 

Do They Change The Canon Plot?: Nope!! Purely outside of Ms. Frizzle’s class. Maybe my character would have a cameo but there’s... no over-arcing plot in Val’s source material 

Fun Fact: A lot of people probably know this already, but Val and I adopted the Pines twins, Mabel and Dipper, from Gravity Falls! They’re my only canon kids, aside from my grandkids with Zero. We all get along very well.
