when my second grade class randomly burst into song yesterday (they do that sometimes) and they got through the chorus of atp i used my best radio dj voice and i said "that was ah pauh tah puh tuh by rose and bruno mars. next up on second grade radio: COMING BACK TO THE CARPET TO LEARN ABOUT THIS OCTOPUS"
Me: giving up my planning period yet again to do a required online workshop teaching me how to use the resources available on campus to help me serve special needs students.
Also Me: Does not have any of the resources covered available on my campus because we're so understaffed.
IT IS GORGEOUS OUTSIDE. I’m up in here listening to student speeches, all of which end with “in conclusion” and include students reading off of their notes like robots & I know their trying, but I just wanna take my pale legs into the sun and get some damn vitamin D baby.
I’ve wanted to do this for some years…. But I haven’t wanted to ask my lead teacher for permission to do it. But this year, I’m the lead teacher.

I have good news!
No actually have good news for once. The exam I decided to torture myself through was the Elementary K-6 Exam which is separated into 4 sub tests.
Language Arts and Reading
Social Science
Science
Mathematics
The first time you take this exam you need to take all 4 (I know it's dumb) and I didn't need this exam for my teaching certification. That was the last one I took.
I took this because I originally wanted to teach elementary school but I couldn't pass the exam to get into the program. So I took this with an 'I don't care attitude' and got interesting results.
Turns out I passed the Language Arts/Reading and Social Science sections of the exam!
I'm pretty surprised that I passed any of them. But that means I will retake this exam and retake the sub sections individually instead of all at once.
Now it's time to eat something, relax, and get some writing done! 😆
Being a teacher with ADHD

Sits down on table for .3 seconds
*Puts down marker* I just had it, where did it go? *frantic searching*
Gets distracted by kid whispering in the back and loses train of thought
“And that’s why…” 10 seconds of buffering, bewildered looks from kids
Lost whiteboard marker so now fiddles with stressball
*Looking at kid* “Hey catch!” *hurls ball across the room*
“Miss we covered that last week already.”
“Miss you promised to have it for us twice already.”
*Girls singing along to music* “Oh my GOD you guys know this song too??”
Laughs uncontrollably at a kid quoting a Vine
Spends 5 minutes packing all the stuff laid out on desk
“Alright pack up and wait for the bell” “Miss we have ten minutes of class left” “Shit not aGAIN”
