Just took the most difficult test of my LIFE that SUCKED

I really hope passes because

1. I don’t want to pay to take it again

2. I have negative interest in taking a test of that difficulty again and

3. I start my new job WHERE I NEED TO HAVE PASSED THIS TEST FOR THE LICENSE on the 30th

today one of the five year olds i work with asked if i speak "hand english" which was her trying to describe sign language. it was SO CUTE

I wonder if all teachers are required to have the perfect, clean record of only speeding tickets (if that) or if some get waved through and others don't.

If someone was caught underage drinking at 16, would they not be able to be a teacher at 32? Is this a state by state thing?

So we had a giant thunderstorm last night and today I had a soggy ceiling tile come careening down onto my school phone while I was teaching kindergarteners. What a fucking mess

i can't believe that my principal got halfway through a "hey so i heard the kids were asking you all these gay questions and you were answering them. we have parents who don't approve of that so you should always answer controversial questions with Talk To Your Parents" lecture and then i went "i saw a kid had a rainbow book, i complimented the book and told her the high school has a GSA, and then she asked me if i was gay too. i literally just told her the answer. i thought that was okay because of our district's nondiscrimination policies" and then he backed WAY the fuck off and apologized like oh i didn't know and of course you can disclose however much about yourself as you like-

like yeah great. sooooo glad to know that the only thing keeping me from being reprimanded about talking about the stigmatized class is admitting to being part of it while working for a district that has explicit anti-discrimination policies in place. fucking love that

had the strangest convo with a kid today where he like "i'm gonna hit my grandma with a bazooka" and i was like uh we should not hit any grandmothers with bazookas and he said "i'm from the hood i get to do that" and i was laughing as i told him that the hood isn't a grandma bazooka zone and
