If we're talking pacrim au relative to coffeefic relationships, then wouldn't it be nice for Bazett and Maiya to be drift compatible? :) I think it'd be amazing for them to pilot a jaeger together. (And Cu-Kiritsugu too haha~)
Oh my gosh okay this is something Coffeeverse!Shirou would 100% think about a lot because he is 100% a Pacific Rim nerd from age 7 onwards and it never really goes away. He would eyeball all the relationships in his life and wonder who he’s Drift compatible with and make up Jaeger names. Not very good at designing them from scratch though; he didn’t get the hang of technical drawing for a while so he had to trace (naturally) Gypsy Danger. Swords included of course.
MAIYA AND BAZETT IN A GIANT ROBOT THOUGH. Oh, that would be a sight to behold. They would be a ruthless pair of soldiers who would connect really easily because of their similar mechanised mindsets. Their sparring matches would also draw huge crowds and would go on for hours because neither will back down, and they have a great mutual respect for each other while not feeling the need to be super cuddly. After all, they’re in each other’s heads when they fight, and even before that they understand each other pretty well. They have a quiet but strong bond. They also have a perfect kill rate and can clear out the junk food supply in the cafeteria in no time flat.
Kerry and Cu first meet and bond when they’re watching the training match between Maiya and Bazett and realise they’re both gushing over them in their own unique way. They Drift and realise that they have the same fighting spirit and desire to do good, but also their deepset past tragedies are revealed and they end up hugging each other afterwards and crying on each other a bit.
