From our review: The tea is a little bit sweet but the big pearl is quite chewier.

WEEK 2: TEARISTA ☕

I decided to work part time to gain more money as I don't have anything better to do, so I joined as a tearista in January 2024, and though I only stayed for two months, those weeks were filled with experiences that shaped the way I handle challenges and interact with people. I found it difficult to keep up at first. It was quite difficult to memorise recipes, change the amount of sugar, and keep track of unique demands. But gradually, muscle memory replaced repetition, and I started to remember the process of creating each drink, anddd it was fun!

One of the most valuable lessons I learned was attention to detail. A small mistake such as a missing topping, too much sugar, or the wrong tea could affect the customer’s experience. I had to stay focused, even when the pressure built up. This taught me how important it is to stay calm under pressure and deliver quality even when time is limited.

But beyond the drinks, working as tearista was really about customer service. Each customer brought a different mood to the counter, some were friendly and chatty, others were in a rush, and a few were difficult to please. I remember one customer who ordered a drink but later returned, upset that it wasn’t sweet enough and leave a complaint for me ;( It's okay though as and experience. Everybody make mistakes right?

I really really loved the team I worked with, they were fun, and helpful. I'm still friends with them! That's all for week 2, see you guys next week !
