Work in progress for an artfight attack/revenge for @baphometphonetic-art (with mixed Team Flare characters from other people, us included!). We wanted to show the lineart because we think it's kinda cool :)
Some of them are aura-farming like there's no tomorrow. Scio. We're talking about Scio, of course.
En garde! Let's cross pencils; we are Team Comedy and we always revenge ;)
(With a completely new roster of featured characters, compared to 2025! Yay!)

Team Flare plants #1: Celosia.
There are many types of plant collectors in the world… some choose their collections by variegation, some by plant genus, some are crazy about aroids, some have houses and gardens full of carnivorous plants (okay, we're a bit like that too…), some hang rafts of epiphytic orchids on the walls, and… and then… and then there's us, trying to collect all the plants named after Team Flare characters, the antagonistic team in Pokémon XY.
Let's start with a beautiful silver Celosia, strictly purple(ish)-flowered, in honor of the Team Flare scientist of the same name.
It's interesting; the packaging says it's an indoor plant, but from what we know, this plant loves intense sun, and we're having good results growing it outdoors (though that means we have to water it thoroughly every day, filling the saucer well, because the scorching heat here dries it out too quickly).
Celosia argentea is also known as Lagos spinach (yes, you can eat it!) and is a traditional dish in Central and West African countries. It's also a major leafy green in Nigeria, where it's known as "soko yokoto," meaning "makes husbands fat and happy"… so, yeah, we thought it wasn't exactly an indoor houseplant.
Anyway, back to the Team Flare part… it's one of the most fitting flowers for the team. The genus name, Celosia, comes from the Ancient Greek word κήλεος (kḗleos), meaning "burning," and refers to the flame-like shape of the inflorescences.
Celosia was also chosen as the official flower of the Sinulog Festival, the largest celebration in the Philippines held in honor of the Santo Niño every third Sunday of January. The reason for this choice lies in the fact that the colors of the flowers used, predominantly red and yellow, recall the colors of Baby Jesus's cloak, crown, and other vestments.
And how Jesus is connected to Team Flare (and specifically to Lysandre, but yeah, to Team Flare in general too) is something we'll need to explore further sooner or later… but it's there, in the background, telling a story of ancient nobles, intrigue, scams, and much more.
So, we're happy to own this plant! Unfortunately, it's an annual, so at the end of the season, when the flowers turn into capsules full of tiny seeds, we'll have to harvest them and then sow the plant if we want to have many more celosias next year! But hey, maybe we'll have enough to harvest and eat them, so we're not complaining ;)
We'll keep you updated on the collection (and our "jungle on a budget").
And you, do you have any Team Flare plants?
More post TF Bryony. Ooo pokemon you want to add her backk soooo baddd🌀🌀🌀
Hella bored and tired. Also done with Bonnie. I should HIGHKEY make some drawings of her and Bonnie dealing with each others bs.
SCORE!!!
Yes I spent $50 on Pokemon cards…but look what I found!
Black Star Promo Team Flare Grunt!! Been looking for this card for years! The Xerosic is also a nice addition to my Team Flare master set as well! The trainer cards from the XY era looked so nice… I love the font and the borders! Very futuristic. :)
Also Mingo Sigilyph AR!! (Technically an IR but still) One of my favorite TCG artists!
Plus some more for the HZ collection…can’t wait to put this thing together. >:)
Which final battle arc did you think was better-handled?
Kalos Crisis (XY132-136)
The Return to Laqua (HZ133-136)
Imo, I still prefer the Kalos Crisis. Clembot's whole sacrifice, Lysandre capturing Ash and then wiping the floor with him and Alain (up till around the point Malva intervenes and they're able to take him down), the raid at Lysandre Labs to attempt to save Chespie and Steven's awesome entrance, and EVERY relevant character joining in on the final battle is still peak.
(Some aspects of the final battle with the Core and Spinel felt a little bit rushed to me--it was a lot with them taking down the Core, then Spinel, then bidding farewell to the Pokemon that drove their respective journeys, I think it could have potentially been split up more into two episodes--, it was a problem I had with much of Rayquaza Rising. It was still solid, but I would have liked Amethio to get more of a moment against the man who nearly ruined his life and tried to have him killed, especially since his bond with Ceruledge spits in the face of Spinel's "there's no such thing!" mantra, just as much as Liko's and Meowscarada's does. Like, where the heck were Beheeyem and Magnezone?)
Meant to post this a few days ago after I posted the older Bonnie art. Marine also needs more love even more than Bonnie. She’s such a cutie patootie. This is my take on her older, when she’s about 15.
I wanted to make her punk+goth, thought it’d fit especially since she’d probably be more cautious of most big corporations after dealing with Team Flare.
