obsessed with how Lysandre in X&Y is obsessed with the concept of chosen ones ("the children chosen by the professor" and then later the protagonist specifically for wielding Mega Evolution), yet simultaneously scornful of Legendary Pokémon wanting help from humans, as opposed to in Z-A, where he talks about chosen ones less overall, but absolutely still does bring up the "chosen" phrasing in the context of Zygarde, a Legendary Pokémon, choosing the player to help it, with L encouraging the player to become a trainer worthy of Zygarde. all while L is arguably already a "chosen one" and most certainly already a "helper" of Zygarde as well. it's very compelling

So i made a short prompt after i finished drawing this art i made ft. My oc x canon ship,L and elise (ZA-era) i hope you guys like it,and its my first time writing a prompt too qwq:

As they walk together on their way to hotel z L noticed that Elise was shivering from the cold night air,so he draped his jacket on her shoulders much to elise's surprise. Even he is surprised by what he just did by now....was it an instinct of his? Was his past self used to do that as well? Especially to her? . "Apologies,I can't help but notice that you're..." He stammered. "Its alright...." Elise said as she held into his jacket. Surprisingly,his jacket is so warm and cozy to wear though the jacket looks oversized to her when she wears it..... "What about you? Are you okay with the cold? You can have your jacket back if you want to.." she added worrying about him. "Do not worry about me,I'm used to it...after years of sleeping literally everywhere" he stated. . Elise imagines how hard it must be for him to have no place to stay after all those years. Thankfully,she convinced AZ to let him stay at his hotel. (she even offers to pay the room for him but az declines the offer even though the two men have a very VERY complicated past 5 years ago.) . "Is something wrong?" L suddenly asks "H-huh? Oh! Nothing,there's nothing wrong ahah........i just feel nostalgic at the moment" . Elise closes her eyes and reminisces about the night when Lysandre walks her home to her place but that night was very chilly too.. so he draped his jacket into her like L just did....she was worried about his jacket getting wrinkled way back but he stated that doesn't mind about his jacket. What matters is that she won't get cold...that was also the day she gave him a kiss on his cheek for the first time (much to his surprise) thanking him for walking her home...it was very bold of her to do such thing for the very first time that she ended up not sleeping that night... . "A lovely memory i suppose?" L said that ended up elise snapped out from reminiscing "Indeed it was" as she smiles blushing while holding to his jacket even tighter it was as if she was hugging the person who was wearing it. . After a while,They arrived at the hotel z "i guess everyone is already asleep,unless urbain and the others are still outside" elise noticed as they entered the said hotel. "Or az is still at the rooftop.." L added. "He really likes to go there with floette i think,since you can view the prism tower way up" elise said as she walked to her hotel room and noticed that L was still with her...waiting for something??? Then she realized that she still had his jacket on her and she got flustered then gave the jacket back to him.. . "I guess it's time to go to bed now..." Elise nervously laughs "Indeed...we need to get some rest...." L agrees he really needs to rest to continue looking for the scattered zygarde cells tomorrow... So the two both go on their way to their rooms so they can finally now rest after a very long day especially battling those rouge mega pokemon.... . "Uhm L....." Elise calls out to him before she enters her room "Yes?" L ask wondering what she had on her mind so suddenly... . "Thank you.......for walking me home" Elise said as she warmly smiles at him.. . "My pleasure.." He smiled back. That such simple moment alone...... It both warmed each other's hearts.

I can't help but wonder what the story of X/Y could have been if they baked it a bit more. Because like. Lysandre feels very similar to Cyrus in terms of goals, right? Obviously Cyrus wants EVERYONE gone and Lysandre wants MOST of them gone, but in D/P you don't really...see why I guess? Lemme explain. X/Y even as bare bones as it can be, showcases one event very early on that leverages Lysandre's point; Parfum Palace. You literally have to pay to get inside and the game flat out tells you that it's because the owner wants to be richer. SO, THINKING on that, I wonder if there was supposed to be a few more cases like this, where you see these intense bouts of greed all throughout Kalos, probably have a few more of those calls with Lysandre where he spells it out a bit more for you leading up to the climax of the story. It would certainly make the rival's dialogue about neutrality make more sense.

Is anyone else always thinking about how Lysandre's first appearance in X&Y is immediately after the player battles Sycamore and receives a starter and Mega Stone from him, whereupon Lysandre shows up in the lobby to talk about the player being a chosen one of the professor, whereas L's first appearance in Z-A is immediately after the player battles Zygarde and receives what will later become a Mega Stone from it, whereupon L shows up in the courtyard to talk about the player being a chosen one of Zygarde. Or is it just me who is thinking about this literally always.
