“Hey guys, I’m back from the leader meeting, and man was it a heavy topic,” Iroh said returning to Team ISPR’s quarters.
“What was it about, man,” said an orange-clad dark-skinned student, who stopped a conversation with their teammate to respond to their leader.
“Well Chris,” Iroh replied, “there’s a rumor a certain Ms. Doom-Of-All-Remnant is back.”
“Just say Cinder Fall,” the annoyed retort came from a girl in white with short, electric blue hair and eyes hidden behind signature purple sunglasses. “Stop being so cryptic. It’s alright or whatever in the field, but just say it in casual.”
“Cinder? As in the Fall of Beacon?” A nervous question from a purple frilled, orange suit to match orange-ish cat ears, chocolate skinned, voluptuous girl.
“It was not a ‘Fall’ if they took it back,” replied the orange-shirted, black-vested, mad inventor of a team leader. “But like I said, it’s a rumor.”
“But it still could happen right,” asked the blue-haired girl.
“Doubtful, but yes, Victoria,” replied Iroh.
“So what are we going to do?” asked the cheetah girl.
“Yeah, Raven’s right,” agreed Chris.
“Do what we always do, Fight and win.”
“But we don’t always win,” Victoria shot down his statement.
“Stop being so pessimistic right now. Sure we don’t win but we fight. Fight like you’ll never die, fight to stay alive, fight for the crown, fight to take them down, fight the Grimm and monsters, because we want to save lives,” he alluded to a song. “That’s what we as hunters are going to do. Cause as long as there’s evil heroes have to rise.”
“We aren’t hunters,” shot Victoria.
“Not yet,” countered Iroh, “But we will get there. But first, right now, we have a Vytal festival to win.”
“You know, man, we’re against a favorite to win, team VILT,” informed Chris.
“Didn’t VILT just beat OAKS?” asked Raven.
“No; different team VILT,” responded Chris.
“Going up against a favorite does not mean they’ll win, right Iroh?” questioned Victoria.
“I was wrong twice…”
“Three.”
“Three times. But you have to admit it was close.” A pregnant pause waiting for some sort of response, “well like she said, it doesn’t mean they’ll win. When we became a team, and I was appointed the team leader, I promised you guys that I’ll be the best team leader ever, and I won’t let you down…”
“You have,” interrupted Victoria.
Stink-eyeing Victoria, Iroh continued, “and… I lost my train of thought. One sec.” Iroh mumbled to himself of what he just said trying to get this thought. “Ah, ha,…and to be the best team…”
“We aren't,” interjected Victoria again. “We made it here through luck.”
Annoyed, Iroh replied, “luck or skill? We have been training together for a while. We know what to do if we lose our weapon. Chris, you lose Boulder and…”
“And I grab Vector,” showing his put together gun.
“I mean and if you lose Vector?
"I cast fist. Or use my semblance.”
“Raven,” Iroh directed over to the cheetah girl, “what if using your weapon is not the best thing to use?”
“And we can use each other's weapons,” Iroh turned to Victoria, with a big grin.
“You will not drop Marceline,” and Iroh slightly deflated. “But I will drop the bass when needed.”
“Not to mention our combos, 'Speeding bullet’, 'Sonic boom’, 'rocket man’, 'speed queen’, 'turn to 11’, and our powerhouse that will get us to the double immediately: 'Cat Call’. So believe in me who believes in you, and what we always do: Go, Fight, Win!” Iroh assured in full confidence, standing up with one foot raised on the chair.
“Was that one of your 'inspirational’ speeches?” Victoria asked annoyed.
Iroh, still on his confidence peak: “Yes.”
“Well it sucked,” and Iroh deflated.
“I thought it was good, man,” Chris tried to build him up.
“I just want a quick victory. I don’t want to workout too much,” replied Raven
“So what about the 'Cinder Fall rumor’?” Victoria brought the topic back up.
“We have a Vytal festival to worry about. However, if it is true, be ready to fight.” A small grin appeared on Iroh’s face, “I do not want to Fall by her hand.”
The team reeled back in disgust and horror of the absolutely terrible, bad pun their leader just made.
“I’m going back to my tunes,” Victoria turned to.
“I’m gonna...go not be here,” said Chris, stepping away to walk the waiting area.
“I’m going to the locker rooms, take a shower, this humidity is killing my hair and making me all icky,” Raven shivered.
“I guess I’ll go do something,” Iroh commented.
