My Blood and Ash shelfies from LitJoy finally came in!! The box was extremely disappointing but in the end, I only bought it for these add ons and THEY are lovely!! I have the amillionworldsinone Blood and Ash dust jackets and these are by the same artist (gonzalom.art on insta) and they match, so I couldn’t say no!

Sometimes I think about the backlash to poppykawke, and even among those not mad, I think about how many people have interpreted it as meaningless and I get sad because I think JLA has a lot of incentive to run in the other direction of this really lovely relationship between the three of them.

Then I think about the unwavering devotion Kieran had when Cas was captured the first time and about Cas and Kieran’s hearts beating in time as Poppy walks into a room and Kieran fighting a shift so he can be what Poppy needs to reign her rage in and I think about Kieran and Cas crashing into each other after Cas gets better and about how when they’re all cuddled up sleeping together Poppy says it felt like it was meant to be this way and how after the joining she said it felt right.

It’s also narratively great how much building the relationships she’s has with Cas and Kieran has been part of her throwing off the bullshit repressive lies she was raised with and becoming comfortable with herself and her power. She grew up among soulless vampyr who couldn’t feel love and delighted in lording their power over her while trying to use her power for their own ends. And now she’s surrounded by love, and specifically loved by two people who support, encourage, and believe in her and give her the space to grow into her power while also helping her maintain her sense of self and I just need a goddamn moment.
