It's so early but I really need to articulate how much I love the horrendous tragedies that are Sirius and Connal as villains who ultimately destroy themselves.
Sirius would have been far more justified if he had simply channeled his rage towards Tuomas/Radomus instead of the man who clearly had a common enemy with him, but was so absorbed in the need to punish those who wronged him even in desperation that he let it consume him and dragged down a man who otherwise also had justified anger along with him (clearly not helped by Lin pitting everyone against each other but tbh Meteor would probably be unstoppable if Sirius were 100% cooperative). His lashing out on the people who Radomus also technically threw under the bus in the end is a byproduct of Sirius succumbing to his need to enact his own definition of justice onto others.
Connal was a victim of not only the circumstances he was raised in, but the lack of resources for youths at his time of need and all the way through adulthood. He was so consumed by grief and the need to be a savior for those in similar circumstances to his childhood that his internalized misogyny and patriarchy took a deep root in otherwise noble intentions and warped him into someone who believed he could do no wrong without proof. I bet my dominant arm that if he'd had video or photo evidence of what happened to Saphira during his blackout drunk mental breakdown, he'd be mortified, but he and Saphira had problems with each other even before that so why would he take her word for it? Lin was also very much outside of his expertise but he couldn't admit that to himself, which is what led to literally everything else. If he had gotten the resources he needed for his problems and alcoholism he may have genuinely been a good doctor.
Tldr: these are probably hot takes on two awful men but please I'm begging pay attention to their actual stories in the game they are SO complex.
