Review on the kissing booth 2

I've watched the kissing booth 2 a couple of days ago and ever since I finished it I wanted to type what I think about that movie. But here is the thing: I started typing this 3 times already. One time I even posted it and ended up deleting it after 5 minutes because I didn't know how I really felt about it. Now, 2 days have passed and I had time to think about it and process what happened. Before I start I want to say, that this is a teen rom-com and I won't judge the movie on the flaws that come with this genre.

Seeing this movie as an adult makes me realize that the characters have a huge communication problem. It makes the realtionship between Noah and Elle more complicated than it should be. But ok, there wouldn't be a plot without this... At first, I was mad about Elle for cheeting on Noah, because I love Noah to pieces and it made me angry seeing him so sad. Than I was mad about Noah. He is older than Elle and Lee, he should be more mature and even though the anger problem is technically not his fault (I think his parents should have done something about that earlier on), he should have been a better boyfriend to Elle and actually talk to her about his feelings, his problems at Harvard. Most of all, if you want your girlfriend to know that you don't have an affair with your female friend, then fucking introduce them properly. Tell her what your friendship looks like. Don't give her a fucking reason to doubt you in the first place. Tell her you want a friendship like the one that Elle has with Lee and you think it is like that.

This brings me to the whole Marco situation. Marco is... A wonder. He is truly the perfect mixture of Lee and Noah. And he is the only person to actually express his feelings properly (second place goes to Lees lovely girlfriend. At least she tried to solve the problem in a mature way.). Marco is better for Elle in so many ways. Elle and Noah are sweet and I don't doubt that they love each other, but let's be real here. You need a partner that you can actually tell stuff. Elle barely knew Marco and still told him about her feelings about the whole Noah and Chloé situation. Because she knew he wouldn't judge her. And he offered advice, he listened, he didn't judge, he left her space, he didn't pressure her.... I could go on for hours. Maybe I will in a second post. This is already way too long. Let me know if you would like a second part on this.
