Week 3 Practice: Team Organization
Coca-Cola Share Happiness
Opens with friends sitting around a campfire with a cooler next to them full of Coca Cola. *Background music the Coca Cola song "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing"
Girl reaches into cooler pulls out ice-cold coke and hands it to a man who just joined them. He smiles and takes a drink. He then passes his coke to a boy sitting by his self next to a tree looking very sad.
“This will turn that frown upside down”!
Schoolgirl counting change at the counter of a soda shop to buy herself a coke, but unfortunately she doesn't have enough so she walks out of the soda shop head down staring at the change in her hand
Another young lady who was sitting at the counter watching the girl runs outside to the girl with a bottle of coke in her hand
"You seem to have forgotten your Coca-Cola".
(Looking up from her hand)
"That's not mine. I didn't have enough for it".
(Smiling holding out Coca-Cola bottle)
"It's yours if you want it".
(Smiling reaches up taking the bottle)
Stands are full at the local baseball game. The top player is up to bat; it's the last inning bases are loaded. The batter already has two strikes and after the last pitches a third strike and is called out.
The batter throws his bat and stomps back to the dugout. To his surprise a fan is waiting by the dugout holding an ice cold Coca-Cola and a baseball.
(Holding a coke in one hand and baseball in the other)
"Can I get your autograph, sir"?
(Sweat dripping off forehead, scowl on face)
"Look kid! It's been a long day and I'm exhausted not to mention I'm dying of thirst".
The "kid" starts to turn; to walk away, but stops looks at his coke and turns back around.
(Walking toward ball player with a big smile on his face presenting coke to player.)
"I'm sorry you're having such a rough day, but maybe this will cheer you up"!
(Wiping sweat off forehead with towel)
"That's real nice kid, but that's your coke I can't take that from you".
"I want you to have it, you need it more than I do"!
(Smiling back, taking coke)
"Thanks kid! That's very kind of you"!
The "kid" turns to leave when he hears a whistle.
(Whistling, tossing ball)
The kid catches the ball with a smile on his face nods to the ball player and walks away.
I have a few roles within our team. I am the team leader, Documentarian, Lead Writer, Audio Engineer, and all three of us are sharing the responsibility of Strategist. The ways I plan on accomplishing my roles are as follows:
Team Leader – I have created a Google Doc so that my team the “Digital Divas” can collaborate, plan, share ideas, and keep in contact. I also posted in the Google Doc the different roles we could chose and I allowed my team members to pick what they wanted to do.
Documentarian – I have all deadlines saved on my Google calendar and I have shared this calendar with my team. I am also using our Google Doc page to keep track of all project details and ideas. Lead Writer – I have written the script for our digital story using a script-writing app on my smart phone. I then shared this script on the Google Doc through my phone to get the opinions of my team and so that they could share it on their blog. I am sure during the next week some of the script if not all will be revised.
Audio Engineer – I have located and downloaded onto my phone the song to be used in the digital story. This is the song that is mentioned in the script. I will also do the voice-over if the team decides we need one. Strategist – The entire team will be responsible for this role, but for my part I am prepared to share our story on Facebook, Twitter, email, and texts. I am confident that with all three of us publishing and promoting the video we will definitely increase its visibility and view count.
