maybe one day i'll draw a picture that doesn't have the characters look squished and tiny but that day unfortunately isn't today
Striders vs Ghasts
Pros and Cons
STRIDERS
Pros:
They help you get across lava lakes, which makes traveling in the Nether so much faster and easier!
They don't attack you
They are cute. Now I know some people would say they are ugly, but I find them ugly-cute, like a toad or a blobfish.
You can keep them as actual pets if you desire.
They have baby forms. Look at that little baby strider on top of the older one! It's so cute!
They have a nice hair style
Cons:
They are a bit slow on land.
GHASTS
Pros
They give you the ability to make a regeneration potion from their tears when they are killed.
.......That's literally it.
Cons
They are horrifying. Look at those eyes! That is a creature of hell!
They attack you for no reason. Too many times have I and I'm sure several other players, have been either blown up or knocked off a platform by these guys.
They have the most annoying sounds.
They do not have a baby form
They are super hard to defend against due to floating.
Even if they die and drop a tear, most are floating over lava so you lose it anyway!
IN CONCLUSION
Striders are the superior mob by a longshot!
I can’t handle these dorks
Team Striders Headcanons!
Vanguard seems to love putting neat headcanons in my head.
Team Striders - Chrono, Kazuma and Taiyou - are bros. Imply otherwise leads to a lot of angry glares from both Chrono and Kazuma, while Taiyou will give a deadly smile before leaving the offending person in Chrono and Kazuma’s good hands.
Taiyou is considered the baby of the group. Mess with him and you are faced with not only the other members of Team Striders, but the rest of Team Try3 and their new team mates. (They sometimes forget that Taiyou can handle himself quite well.)
Chrono tends to make Kazuma and Taiyou rethink their admiration for Ibuki, particularly when they find out Ibuki had stalked Chrono, and when they catch the two childishly arguing over whatever issue they have again.
Kazuma sometimes crashes at Chrono’s place. Often this turns into a sleepover with the trio since Taiyou does drop by for Cardfight practice on occasion.
It takes Chrono and Taiyou describing the difficulties and insecurities they faced growing up without Vanguard, and sometimes with Vanguard, before Kazuma starts talking more about his home life before leaving the main house. It was hard, but he felt lighter afterwards. (Though he looked at Taiyou a bit confused since it was hard to picture the sunny teen as cold and aloof)
Both Taiyou and Kazuma agree that Chrono’s life was crazy. What with the Gear Chronicle units becoming real and all that. Then they realise that the both of them were getting drawn into the same crazy with the Diffriders and are just resigned.
Taiyou getting a little mentoring from Sendou Aichi made little sense to Chrono and Kazuma, since both of them had different decks. Its only when Kamui revealed that Aichi was one of the first users of the clan, and hence knew some of the technicalities of the deck that things made sense.
Kazuma is a closet bookworm and no one but Chrono and Taiyou knows this. Chrono, however, knows the hidden reason, especially since he loved tinkering with machines on the sly. (something about a potential Diffride connection influencing their interests)
Both Kazuma and Taiyou find Chrono’s dream cheesy and hilarious, but support him wholly. A glare and pout from Chrono causes them to crack up a second time.
I couldn't draw them as humans so i drew them like this :D
Team Striders
stride verb: walk with long, decisive steps in a specified direction. noun: a step or stage in progress toward an aim.
I love their dynamic.
