So you're right where Amanda and I left you earlier?
… yeah…
I watched almost 2 seasons in a few days. I needed a break. [I’m not good at TV binging like some people.]
For the Character thing. Imma be that person. Mickey Milkovich
Do you love/hate/don’t feel strongly about this character? I love this baby with a passion. That does not mean I will not criticize him. But I love him. Unconditionally. unlike that piece of shit he has for a father
What’s your favorite trait of this character? Hm… This is going to sound awful because this is actually not a good thing to have but… I like that Mickey has a one-track mind. It doesn’t help him as a person or make him more sympathetic but it makes him who he is. The most prominent things that Mickey does (go after Ian, go after Frank. pursue sex, etc.) are all done in a way that clearly show he’s not thinking about anything else. He doesn’t doubt himself. Ian raped Mandy because Mandy said so. Done. End of story. And then when it’s not true anymore he doesn’t really give a shit. He’s thinking about something else.
What’s your favorite moment/event involving this character? This is hard for obvious reasons. I’m gonna go with the whole bit where he and Ian are doing pull-ups in the dug-out. Because when Ian starts and does a few it’s innocent. Ian is not showing off, he’s just being some goofy kid. But Mickey stares, because Mickey has a one track mind (which Ian does not) so he’s still thinking about sex. And then Mickey does pull-ups and the scene shifts. He’s grunting, it probably sounds similar to some of the noises he was making a few minutes ago and he knows that. And he does twice as many as Ian did. Mickey is putting himself on display, he is putting in effort to get what he wants. It’s his version of foreplay. He is keeping Ian interested. I love this scene because it is the first time where we see Mickey putting in discernable effort, unnecessary effort. He is giving without Ian needing to ask and he is being more open about the fact that, whatever they’re doing, he’s in. And Ian knows, he may not be 100% sure but he knows. And I just love all of it. :)
If you could have one power/attribute/etc. of this character, what would it be? His physical strength. And maybe a prostate… But if I had to choose I’d go with physical strength. (it’d certainly make my stage combat classes easier, broadswords are fucking heavy)
Have you ever pictured this character naked? It’s pretty hard to read smut without picturing the characters naked.
When did you fall in love/hate with this character? If you don’t have any strong feelings toward them, why not? Well I’ve pretty much been on the ship since I knew it existed. But I think I feel in love with Mickey specifically in the scene where he comes out of his room after sexing Ian and shoves Ian and Mandy over on the couch and eats pizza bagels and steals the video game controller. I don’t know why this scene stuck out but it did.
Who’s your OTP for this character? His heart, dick, and ass belong to Gallagher. I don’t need to specify, he never does. *snaps*
this is the most beautiful thing and idea i have ever witnessed
And here we have a clearly flustered and flattered blogger. This reaction is common in these parts as creatures that spend such a significant amount of time on the internet are unaccustomed to responding to praise in a poised and courteous manner.
Thank you. :)
Aw thanks! I love you too.
I assume this means you agree with what I posted? If that is the case I'm glad. I think criticizing art is one thing, but hating on people who are doing their job when we have no idea what it is they are actually doing is another.
You want to get annoyed? Get annoyed that Noel wants to have a career outside of Shameless and therefore doesn't just dye his hair and eyebrows.
[please, don't actually get annoyed at that. He deserves a long, fruitful, and fulfilling career.]
for the ship thing... GALLAVICH
when or if I started shipping it. Since the first time they fucked
my thoughts: DON’T MESS WITH MY BABIES!
What makes me happy about them: they have so many issues but they love each other so much and they actually make each other really fucking happy
What makes me sad about them: Terry is Satan and Ian joined the army
things done in art/fic that annoys me: When either character is written as being too sappy/emotionally open. These guys have very unique way of communicating that’s a lot of reading between the lines and I don’t like it when authors override that in favor of something more obvious.
things I look for in art/fic: For them both being in character, otherwise it’s just two random dudes with the same names.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: for Ian - some guy down the road who was more emotionally available than Mickey but not actually touchy feely about it or anything; for Mickey - someone who gets his situation and understands that Mickey might have to have a wife and shit but it’s okay because the guy doesn’t need Mickey to be his everything
My happily ever after for them: Ian ditches the army and steals Mickey from the Southside and they figure it out somewhere else, together
what is their favorite non-sexual activity? Drinking, definitely drinking.
purple, grey
