Star Sign -birth- TEAM02 - Release commemoration 🌟 Short Story
A man named Amawashi Arata has a very striking appearance.
With azure eyes and hair so golden it's almost transparent in the light—clearly a "good-looking guy" that anyone's eyes would notice. Moreover,
"I don't mind if you admire, but I won’t allow you to look for free.”
He says things that are funny every time. Thanks to that, I reflexively retort “Do you mean I can look if I pay?” and the priority of the line “The more I look at you, the more handsome you are” is pushed further and further back. Furthermore, his response is like this:
"You're a fool, Nachi. Do you think someone like you can easily put a price on me?"
Someone like you. Easily.
(Does anyone really talk like that in everyday conversation nowadays?)
Team 02 is a team where all the members are less than professional actors. Unlike Team 01, which is full of active members, we don’t know what they bought, or what they saw in us to pass the audition.
It’s not just Arata. Me, too. (What am I?) In the current situation where I’m not doing any work-like work, I have no idea.
“The reason for Arata-san’s audition success? It’s gotta be his face, right!”
A trivial chat that started in the cafeteria space. Yuzuru, who doesn’t hesitate to call himself “the promising newcomer”, expresses his opinion too straightforwardly, and Sana, next to him, mutters “the embodiment of modern lookism” and then continues.
"It's true that having good looks makes it easier to stand at the starting line. However, if you can't act convincingly, you'll eventually become just a plain actor."
"That's harsh."
"Well, having a good face is never a bad thing."
"It carries a different weight when Nachi-san says it."
"Hey."
Just as I was about to hit Yuzuru, who was joking around, Takumi said, “I like Nachi’s face, though. It’s the opposite of the boss's.” and lied. Then he made a good face that could be made into a bromide.
"Opposite, which way?"
"The one with his feet on the ground. If we're talking celestial bodies, more like the Earth than the Moon."
"What's that?"
"Does that mean Arata-san is otherworldly?"
"Something like that. He's quite peculiar, isn't he?"
"Then Nachi-san's appearance is not bad either. It has impact."
"Is that so?"
"There are various types of handsome men. Takumi-san is a stylish, fashionable handsome man. Sana-chan Senpai and Haru-chan Senpai are practically fairies at this point." "I'm a fairy…?" "Can you please use understandable language?" "Isn't your existence like fantasy? Twin handsome actors." "Well, yeah, it's surprising in the sense of 'do they really exist.'"
True. If something like an imaginary creation suddenly appeared in front of you, anyone would be surprised.
I recalled Arata's words again, who said “Don’t look for free” this morning.
"Look at that. The encore of the full moon."
Prompted to look up, I saw a faint waning gibbous moon, almost a perfect circle.
The round moon, which would have risen to the eastern sky as the sun set in the west, was on the verge of disappearing into the bright western horizon.
The moment of the bright azure sparkle. The brilliance of the shining silver surface. Somewhat archaic lines.
(What the heck is this?)
I can't understand. After all, I don't even know my current coordinates, and the distance between me and this moon is about as vast as that between Earth and the moon. To the extent that I might mistake the rocky ground for a calm sea.
"Hey. Didn't I say not to look for free?" "…Your face is the only good thing about you." "Don't just say 'only.'" "I was complimenting you." "Don't lie; I'm deeply wounded. As an apology, go buy some dumplings at the convenience store." "I'm going for a run now. Go on your own." "Don't throw a tantrum." "Who's throwing one?" "Well, can't be helped. I'll accompany you part of the way."
Muttering dramatically, Arata strides ahead.
(Oh well.)
Before I knew it, the moon had long vanished into the sunlight.
"Hey, to the convenience store! Let's go!"
