Along with lighting the levels I have been working on making the enemies and player lighting really pop. They have been placed on separate layers, for the enemy it is merely a separate directional light but the player model has 5 lights to highlight the crystal glowing areas, yellow hair and 2 lights for the overall figure and face.
1 more week to go and we have the project finished!
We have added, particles, lighting, the new character model with animation controller hooked up ready for the programmers to implement next week.
The enemies are also ready for their animations to be programmed in with attack animations for the shooting mobs we will have in the next few levels.
Lighting will be re-designed with the artists next week, we may go for different colors for each level or a standard light blue throughout, the floor tiles here will be replaced with new ones, this design will be the corner piece rather then all of the pathway.

BOUNCING BULLET!
LEVEL COMPLETE! (this will include score and rating for the level)
Team Mooni are pulling their weight and have finally broken the burn down chart. Now on to gold and what will be a lot of bug fixing and polishing to make the game as enjoyable as possible.
Progress updates on levels, lighting, particles and animations to come.
First pass grey-box, these are bigger levels so need further time spent designing.
Through designing these levels I have found one major flaw in our assets, the floors are 1-by-1 only so far and that will lead to severe performance issues in the build. Tomorrow I plan to fix this by adding 2-by-2, 4-by-4 tiles and 8-by-8 tiles of each type of flooring. A quick fix that can still work by changing textures, the texture sheet for all floors of one type will need to be the 8-by-8 texture so that we can use 1 texture sheet for all pieces.
After testing we may go further with optimizing the structures of each level.
The journey has been screwed up. I sometimes feel like breaking down and other times I love who I am surrounded by. The teams that I have are great and everyone actually attended uni today! Jesse, Josh and I were able to hand in Alpha at 11:30.
I have gotten to that point where my brain is constantly fried. Now that Alpha is done, this is no means to celebrate, it just means that it is the beginning of Beta and I can already see all the things that are going to happen, but I need to hold on tight because the ride has just begun.
I have already started with one of the Beta documents and will aim to get one section of that done before I leave at 5:30. I don’t have work tomorrow which is a change for me, so I am going to go to a friends house tonight so that I can relax a little before I start getting heavily into paperwork for both my teams.
Josh has already created the Beta scope/Trello for The Fresh Frogs and I have created the Beta scope/Trello for Switchshot. It has been a productive day, but I would really, really, really... Like it to end now.
