I just realized that both Paul and Nolan got a scene with Debbie going "I know the kind of person you are."

Nolan gets to go "I know you, I know you'll eventually come around to giving me a second chance and seeing that I changed," while Paul goes "I know you, you would never abandon your kid even if they were on a different planet."

Really shows the difference in how Nolan keeps trying to make everything about him and his struggle, while Paul actually thinks about her struggles.

The reason why Paul was good for her wasn't just because he was boring and gave her life a sense of normalcy in the middle of all the chaos, he was good because he was there for a woman who spends so much time having to be there for others and forgets to be there for herself.

Paul Narita deserves better than Will Horton

Will staying at Paul’s bedside for less than five minutes because he can’t deal with his guilt (for loving Sonny and not him now) is selfish to say the least. I absolutely agree with Lucas that Will should not be with Paul if his heart is not 100% in it. But it is hard to give credit to this story where Will’s grandma and boyfriend are in a hospital and his main concern is going back to Sonny. Most people with a healthy balance between altruism and selfishness would not be able to even think about “who should I choose?” in a scenario like this.

I believe it’s healthy for main characters to have flaws and make mistakes because that is what humans do. Everyone has their good and bad sides. But considering this and other things Will has done, he is too much of a mess to be considered Day’s sweetheart.

I was rooting for Horita, but now I hope Paul chooses himself and sees that Will is not good enough for him. He deserves the least respect and dignity, which not even the soap’s writers are offering. A horita comeback would be just as forced as this twist in Will’s feelings.

This “we are meant to be” or “soulmates finding their way back to each other even if it means no consideration to side characters feelings” concept is unhealthy and damaging to the audience, especially the younger audience who will be lead to believe there is such thing.

Even so, Will and Sonny deserve each other. Paul deserves happiness and he should stay away from Wilson’s toxic dynamic.
