An odd but small snore croaked from his throat as he laid in the grass. He couldn’t find a place to rest in his traveling, trying to find his home city from...wherever he popped out of. He was walking for what felt like hours. The sun had set and still he walked. He had grown weary. He knew where he was going, for the most part, but didn’t know how far he would have to go. He needed to sleep, but open shelter was no where in sight. Then, there was a smell. A welcoming scent. An array of flowers, all of varying sorts, sizes, and colors. He could not make out much in the dark and his haze, but this seemed like a safe place to rest. At least, it felt safe.
And now, here laid the rugged sir, with his rolled jacket as a pillow and the grass his cushion. Out like a light, fast asleep in a garden.

A new place. New towns, new sights, new terrain...all new, yet always never unfamiliar. Wandering without ever being lost. Surrounded by the unknown without ever feeling confused. It was a life he had always loved living. One that always had something new around the bend, or something familiar he could appreciate seeing more of in the world. Yes, there were always sights he would miss, faces he yearned to see once more, but people had their duties and places had their needs. Their responsibilities, their destinies, their callings. Expectations and beliefs... He always had to remind himself of these things.
The heavy steps of flat stone feet came to a stop as a slate of stone, imprinted with three, pearly, pale yellow spheres -- his face and eyes -- turned to gaze up at the sky. The clear sky above. Clear of clouds and haze, unlike the quiet golem’s wandering thoughts. He needed to think on something else. Something not so...lonesome. He needed to do something distracting before it all wandered to what he always tries to forget -- or, more accurately, remember.
His pace continued, wandering a few strides further before coming to another slow as his eyes caught sight of something glistening. Water. A lake. Just a stone’s throw to the east. It looked lovely. Perhaps he could relax there for some time. Dip his roots and bask in the refreshing feeling. There were thick trees about as well. He could easily blend into the base of those, in case any travelers came around. It was perfect.
Being wary of any other animals or being nearby, the golem slowly approached, ducking through thick branches the best he could to reach the calm body of water, quaking but soft thumps of each step putting small ripples in the water’s surface. He looked around, found a healthy thick tree, a similar shade of brown to he, and to it he went and settled, relaxed from the humanoid shape to nestle himself at the base of its trunk with his boulders tucked against it comfortably, a pile of roots, moss, and stones, like a pet snuggling into a warm lap. He waited a moment, waiting to see if any life stirred around him, before reaching some of those roots into the lake’s edge and reaching down, down the walls of dirt and deeper into the water. It was like drinking a sweet elixir. Between the pleasant shade and the invigorating water, the golem was perfectly content staying her for a while. A few hours, a few days... There as no rush as of now. He would play it by ear.
❛ there are a lot of fresh graves here. Somethin’ must’a happened. ❜ it was uncommon to see so many plots with fresh soil disturbed. Abel would know, he frequented cemeteries frequently and would often take naps in the mausoleum when it was raining. Maybe there had been a murder. That would be fun to poke around with. / @teamuses
Send me “Can’t sleep?” to have a tired conversation with my muse in the middle of the night.
A single glowing eye would peer up at Auro from his place on the ground, just having settled again after tossing and turning in a failed attempt to get comfortable. The closest to an answer the youth would get was a low grunt as his eye closed, almost a groan as he practically deflated in the tired sigh that pooled from his nose. He was a little surprised to see Auro this late, but didn't care to think on it much at all. It wasn't as though the unruly tundra troll blended in this far south.

He didn't like the wording, but from the old man it almost felt playful compared to how such a warning is normally dealt. No malice in sight, no secrets in those eyes. Supposedly. The black & red colors of them certainly said otherwise to the leery wanderer. The old man was right, however, & as Graham stepped further inside he took off his heavy, soaked coat & glanced around -- a fast scan that quickly settled back on the old man to observe him carefully.
“Ya normally bring strangers into yer home?" he questioned, his tone not quite cold, but calm & monotone. He had no problem with his suspicion being known. If this guy had any wits about him, he would know how dangerous such blind trust must be.

Graham, standing there with his small notebook in hand and a partially turned page pinched by the other, had gone completely still at the sight of the other. He had gone to the woods to look for something when he found the giant. Calm and collected as always, but, with the most genuine, unregulated, and clear honesty across the elder's mug, he had no idea what it even could look like other than a giant man in the woods. Which was alarming and questionable enough.
“... T’en…what?" It was the best thing he could think to say. Silence felt it would do little good here. Not with an unsettled, literal giant.
