honestly.....both. hal thinks o.b. is too smart for him, and o.b. is just confused as to why hal would date the only ordinary person in an extraordinary city.

o.b., after a really shitty day, in tears. he and hal watched a movie and ate hot pockets that night.

hal. his face literally lights up.

hal breaks down but luckily o.b. is there to hold him and calm him down. almost every time.

who is most self conscious in public?

o.b. he looks too normal to fit in, and hal gets enough “you can do better” comments as it is.

who is more likely to apologize a million time for a tiny mistake?

hal!!! he is not good at a lot of things, and he’s scared of himself.

who admits they’re scared only when they think their S.O. is asleep and how does the other react?

o.b. admits that his cool act is fake and he’s scared of bullies all the time, even into adulthood. hal doesn’t sit up, but talks about it with him slowly over breakfast the next morning.

who never thinks they’re good enough for the other?
