Now that the allegiances are officially out, I can say- I actually was predicting Teaselfoot to be assigned as Bramble's mentor. I mean, Teaselfoot is a goofball, enough to help the relatively shy Bramblepaw to start opening up- maybe even have some of that friendly cheer rub off on Bramblepaw. Honestly, was a bit surprised that serious Dustpelt took Bramblepaw instead. That said, Tawnypaw ("my brother is badass for roasting Darkstripe") being mentored by Sandstorm feels... ideal for both.

If Dustpelt hadn't directly asked to mentor Bramblepaw, I think Firestar would have asked Teaselfoot for the exact reasons you said. Teaselfoot can be a bit much for a shy cat, with how extroverted he is, but it's possible he would've done well with Bramblepaw. Either him or Firestar himself were candidates.

Re-reading CL. I absolutely love how much of a jokester Snowpaw seems to be! Makes me think he and Teaselfoot would get along really well. Could you imagine Snowpaw swiveling an ear around and pretending that he heard something, making all the cats around him freak out a little. And Teaselfoot (who’s in on the joke) looks around like, “I heard it too. You guys seriously can’t hear it?” “What does it sound like?” “This”—and Teaselfoot and Snowpaw proceed to laugh at the rest of the patrol.

I can't say much about either of them for obvious reasons, but this concept does delight me!

Teaselfoot and Firestar bonding over their love of cars.

"You're telling me there's ones that go really fast? Faster than any other car? Are they, like, their own Clan or something?"

"Well, no.... I'm not sure, actually. I've only ever seen them on the slab at my old house."

"So the implication I'm getting is that if I was a car, I'd be one of those."

"I guess so. They're kind of weirdly colored, like car tortoiseshells, though, so maybe they're all mollies."

"Eugh, nevermind."

Some information about Teaselfoot! Does he have anything going through his head recently?

I see! Well, lemme rummage around in my brain for any fun stuff.

He's given way more thought than he expected in his life about the possibility of one day being a father. That is to say, he's actually thought about it, instead of just immediately going "kits, ew!" as he used to as an apprentice. He's drawing to the conclusion that no, he's probably not going to be anything more than a potential donor, but at least he doesn't hate the idea now.

He doesn't have nightmares often, but when he does, he somehow manages to spin them into a funny story. "And then the dog's head grew, like, three times as big, and it bit a tree in half! Ha ha! Is that stupid or what?" Helps him get over the part where the tree falls on top of him and crushes him to death.

His favorite cat is his sister, because she's easy to joke with. His second favorite is Lizardtail, because he's easy to joke at.

Was Teaselfoot a contender for -belly and if so, how come Bluestar/Morningstar gave him -foot over -belly? Did he choose? I was rereading the series and he really strikes me as someone who does his best to keep the mood light and cheerful and he seems much more easy going than the rest of ThunderClan, save for Cinderpelt. That being said, I know there's been a lot of talk about how hard it is to tell when a WindClan cat is a -belly, unless you're squinting or really familiar with WindClan behavior, but is it also hard to tell when a ThunderClanner is a -belly? Like they're the most militaristic clan and they don't really joke around much- to the point that Fireheart has a hard time recognizing when RiverClan jokes with him. Obviously since we have a ThunderClan POV, we can tell, but is it hard for outsiders to tell when a ThunderClanner is a -belly?

For the first question: Teaselfoot could have been a -belly, but skill suffixes are considered a stage above personality suffixes (so a cat is more likely to become a -claw than a -storm, even though they fit both). That said, apprentices are often asked what name they would prefer, and he was no exception. Teaselpaw thought that he should pick his skill first, plus being a -foot in the Clan of the territory with the least running space was funny, so he went with it.

For the second question: It's much easier for an outsider to tell when ThunderClan cats are -bellies. I would say that, while pretty serious and dry, the range of personalities in ThunderClan is quite colorful compared to, say, WindClan. I'd honestly think that it'd be harder to tell if a RiverClan cat is a -belly, because they're all jokey and jolly to some degree. With ThunderClan, you can very much see how different Teaselfoot or Cinderpelt are from Dustpelt or Lionface.

I went looking at old amvs I loved some years back, and I think “young and stupid” by hedley is a fun song for Teaselfoot (said with full care and affection, he be the blorbo ever)

Teaselfoot was mentored by Thrushpelt. So far, he has not had any apprentices.
