teasing, anew;
@daldaye / from here:
“no, i don’t believe you have, your highness.” daye forces herself to pleasantly smile but even that was hard when all she was attempted to do for the entirety of the night was to avoidwoon. this was all a big joke, she knew he recognized her despite her being forced to be dressed in another hanbok.
if she wanted to attend, but to her, it seemed as though it was a requirement, as if she had to for the sake of their family, supporting the general and the princess’ wedding at the same time. daye couldn’t help but nudge him with her elbow, not enough to cause a scene, she knew that wasn’t a good idea in a extravagant setting like this.
“if you have something funny to say, say it already.” she speaks in the form of a whisper. daye doesn’t make an attempt to turn around, knowing the crown prince would have some stupid smirk on his face.
woon believes that he deserves, at the very least, a spot of true amusement for the night. it’s the mean-spirited kind that many know him for. it must be unbelievable to some to hear that the crown prince -- for all his warmth and openness and sincerity and compliments given out with the same amount of straightforward surety -- can, every now and again, engage in word play bordering on acerbic and downright mean.
it’s their dynamic, and woon would be a fool to disrupt it. without a good degree of anger on both sides, how can either of them spar fruitfully?
“it’s not funny at all,” he tells her, although he’s already halfway to laughing. he clears his throat, and smiles as widely and as truly as a child who’s just spotted another person to play with. “you just seem unbelievably beautiful tonight. have i drank too much, or have you actually put in effort to seem like a proper lady for an event such as this? i never knew you were capable of it.”
