Support Needed for Teacher's Car Repair

Hello there! Let me explain my story.

So back in 2023, I worked for a childcare job in Old Shakopee Road in MN. They offered me a lead teacher job that I wanted to accept. I told them that I wanted to get my CDA so that I could teach more. They said that they would both help pay and help me get CDA. However, instead. They just wrote in my file that I had it. At the same time, they misplaced my CPR certification and other papers I had brought for them to have up to date in my file.

From then on, they would have me in the older room as the lead teacher. However, the child-to-teacher ratio for toddlers is 7. And they would always have me at 10-12 kids. 7 toddlers and 5 preschoolers in a smaller toddler room.

There were many licensing issues that myself and the preschool teacher saw when they hired them around Oct 2023. Including child endangerment, nourishment issues, safety hazards, and child endangerment. Myself and the pre-school teacher came together to write out an email to MNl licensing about our concurs, worries, photos, and video proof of what we were reporting on. I had printed the email to show the pre-school teacher to make sure that I didn't miss anything. When I was in a different room for a bit. I had asked a family member of the childcare ower to step in for me. And when I came back, they had gone through my bag and found the printed email. When they saw that I was back, they then fired me for reporting them to licensing. I was out of a job for three - four months without a paycheck. I was then hired again, but what happened did drain my bank account. now My car is in need of repair so that I can continue to teach kids. I love my job, and I don't want tp to end. When Echo walked into the bunk room on Kamino, it was mostly empty. Hunter and Wrecker were blowing off steam in the training rooms and Crosshair never really bothered to share where he was going when he left. Only Tech was there, sitting hunched over the circular work table in the middle of the room. “What’re you up to today, Tech?” Echo asked, coming to stand next to where he was seated. “Replacing the screen on Wrecker’s datapad again. He got startled and it slipped.” Echo quirked a brow at him. “Why?”

Tech didn’t bother looking up from his work. “They’re not really built for someone his size, and he drops them sometimes. They’re not as durable as you might think.”

“No,” Echo replied, shaking his head. “Why not just replace the datapad? Is it really worth it to change out a screen?” He asked, leaning over Tech’s shoulder to watch as he worked.

Tech shrugged his shoulders and Echo got the message, stepping back out of his personal space. “I normally would just replace it and swap the memory drives. But Wrecker likes this datapad.” “Aren’t they all the same?”

Tech hummed, sticking his tongue out as he worked. “Maybe to you or me they are. This is Wrecker’s though. When he asks me to fix something like this, it’s worth an hour of my time. He doesn’t ask for much and it’s not hard for me to do.”

Echo hummed in response, watching Tech’s focused expression as he removed tiny screws from the casing.

“Can I ask you something, Tech?” Echo asked, pacing around the perimeter of the work table and poking at different piles of scraps and trash.

“As it seems you have already, I don’t see how another question would hurt,” Tech replied. Echo huffed but didn’t comment on it. He dropped a broken pair of work goggles back to the table top.

“Well, you two seem really close,” Echo said uncertainly.

“Very astute,” Tech said. “Unfortunately, that’s not a question though.”

Echo rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest. “Well, to be straightforward about it, I was wondering what you two are to each other. I’ve not been around very long, but even I can see how attached you both are.”

At that, Tech’s hand froze. He closed his eyes for a moment, set his screwdriver to the side, and sat back in his chair. Echo gulped at Tech’s squinted expression.

Tech sat there and inspected Echo, bouncing his knee while he thought. “He’s my other half,” Tech replied. He nodded his head once, then leaned back in to continue his work.

Echo opened his mouth to respond, but he couldn’t find something to say back. Instead, he stood across from Tech with his jaw dropped stupidly, his mind blank.

Tech sighed but didn’t look up. “Go ahead, Echo. I know there’s more you want to know.

Dropping his arms to his sides and standing up straighter, Echo cleared his throat. “You just caught me off guard, vod. Didn’t expect such a straightforward answer is all.”

“It’s a straightforward question. You wanted to know what we are to each other, and as far as I’ve been able to figure out, he’s everything I lack and I’m everything he’s not. Now, whether or not that was done intentionally in the lab when we were being modified, I doubt I’ll ever know for sure. It doesn’t matter though. It’s enough of an answer for me.”

“And you said I could ask anything?” Echo asked.

“I encourage it. It’s the only way to really learn, isn’t it?”

Echo nodded although he didn’t think Tech saw him. “Before the Tech- Before, I knew plenty of troopers in relationships. I never settled down myself. I never had the time. But my brother did. Said the Riduurok and everything. Left his riduur a widower. I like to think of them as parts of each other. I know they were. Part of Rex was missing when I came back and Fives was gone. Is it like that?” When Echo looked up again, Tech was staring at him from the other side of the work table. For a long moment, Tech seemed speechless, but when he spoke again, his voice was softer. “We’re not married, if that’s what you’re asking. It’s different than that. We haven’t gotten there yet and I’m not sure if we ever will.” Tech glanced off to the side before refocusing on Echo. “I read this ancient myth once about how humans were created. Or, whatever came before the humans and other humanoid species. In the story it says that all people were created with four arms, four legs, and two different faces. Their creator thought they were too powerful, so they were split and condemned to spend eternity searching for their other halves again.

“Now, I can’t say that I believe in any god. The Kaminoans seem capable of creating life without the help. Really, it’s just a story from a long forgotten past, but I think I understand what it’s talking about. I’m more with Wrecker. I’ve wondered before if I can exist without him. We’re two sides of the same coin. Truthfully, I don’t really care if that’s by design or not.”

Echo let out the breath he was holding. “I appreciate you sharing that with me. I didn’t mean to pry.”

“It’s alright,” Tech replied. “You’re family now, you deserve to know just as much as anyone else.” With that, Tech picked up his screwdriver again and continued his work.
