He tensed, but he wasn’t sure why he was surprised - it wasn’t really fair to expect Oliver to sleep on the floor in exchange for letting Kuja sleep in the bed, after all. Still, he was hyper-aware of the man settling in on the other side of the bed. It wasn’t an exceptionally small bed; there was definitely room for two (even if the boy’s long legs did dangle off the end if he didn’t curl up just a bit), but...

But it’d been so long since he’d last shared a sleeping space with someone, for one thing.  And for another, the only person he’d ever slept this close to was Neirin. Didn’t this represent some kind of trust?

He’d sworn he wasn’t going to trust anyone, not on Gaia.

“Oliver?”  His voice was drowsy, muffled by the pillow.  “Just so we’re clear - I don’t trust you.”
