Ahhh I just stayed up until 1:30am reading your A Proposal by Any Other Name fic and it's so good and well written ahhh!! It has fast become one of my fave reylo fics - it gives me so many feels !!! Can't wait for the next chapter :)
Ahaha welcome to APAON hell ;) I’m so so very glad you’re enjoying it and that it’s become one of your favorites. That’s a huge compliment!! <3 thanks so much for writing me, sweets!
Im not going, but from what a friend of mine's said about the vector arena, and from thei lr experience seeing paramore a few years ago, the earliest youre allowed to arrive is 30 hours before doors, but for most medium popularity bands like 21p (as opposed to say, one direction) people trying to get barrier tend to arrive around 5am the day of the show. I could be wrong though.

It really depends on how long you (and other people that you’re going with) are willing to wait. I know that last year people were lining up super early because it was a smaller venue but Vector is HUGE. Regardless of when you turn up whether it be 5am or 5pm, there is a high chance you will see the stage and have a really good time. Also there are multiple doors at vector (remember to check your ticket for your door!!) so if you happen to turn up later there will still be a chance that you will be close to the front of the line. Don’t stress!
(and ooh goodness 3 hours or 30 hours?? (I’m picking it’s probably 3 hours because 30 seems a lil bit extreme - camping overnight in auckland cbd is definitely not the safest activity!!). If it does turn out to be 3 hours before doors then there is a lovely park literally across from the arena that we can all chill in beforehand! (also there is a pizza hut/mcdonalds/kfc 5 minute walk from the arena too just in case people need dinner/lunch etc.))
Personally, I’m not 100% sure what time I’m getting there yet. I’m just waiting to see whether I can stay the night in my friend’s apartment beforehand but I’ll probably get there sometime between 5-7am because it is holiday time for me and I don’t have anything else to do other than wait around for hours yay!
(P.S. it is not essential that you turn up at 5am, if you want to, feel free but don’t feel pressured that you have to if you/people that you’re going with don’t want to wait that long. Regardless of what time you get there, you will still see and still have a good time!!)
It’s that time of year again where I thought I would put together a big long info post about the concert, what to expect, general info etc. (especially if it’s your first concert/if you’ve never been to Vector Arena before/if you need more info etc. etc.).
NB: there is quite a bit of info so buckle in and enjoy yourself! Less than a month to go!!
General/Important Info:
The concert is on Monday 18th April @ Vector Arena, Auckland
Concert starts at 8pm (unsure whether this is when the doors open or when the concert starts - will update when we know!!)
I’m guessing that the concert will finish sometime around 10:30-11pm ish
Auckland public transport info: https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/
Don’t forget your ticket! (If you know that you’re prone to losing stuff, then print out an extra copy/have a copy on your phone to keep on you so that you know that you’re backed up!)
CHECK YOUR TICKET for what door you’re going in. Vector has 7 doors and they’re all lettered. Check your ticket for what letter door you’re going in so that you line up in the right place!!! (here’s a map showing the different doors)
Venue Info:
Vector Arena’s address is Mahuhu Crescent, Auckland. (you can’t miss it. Like, you really can’t miss it)
You can find general Vector info here: http://www.ticketmaster.co.nz/Vector-Arena-tickets-Auckland/venue/294951
Vector doesn’t let you bring in big, professional DSLR cameras but if you want to take your camera then a simple point and shoot camera/your phone camera will be fine (If you’re taking photos remember to enjoy the concert through your own eyes too!!).
If you’re bringing a bag in, security will check it at the door. On the link above (x) it tells you down the side what you can’t bring in (basically don’t bring in anything illegal and you’ll be sweet). Also NO GLOWSTICKS. Don’t even bother buying or bringing any because they will confiscate them at the door.
You can’t bring in bottles (from memory) so if you’re planning to wait in line a while then I would bring a cheap plastic water bottle (stay hydrated folks!!) so then you can just recycle it before the concert.
There is a Countdown 5 min walk from Vector Arena if you need any supplies/food etc.
There is food and drink on sale from Vector (really expensive) but they remove the lids from the soft drink bottles so if you wanna sneak in a bottle lid if you’re planning on buying a drink but don’t want it open then be my guest (we did this for paramore but just don’t let them catch you). :)
Good Things to Know/General Concert Stuff:
Vector Arena is huge. Like really big so I would get there early. How early you want to come depends on how long you want to wait in line for/who’s coming with you (if anyone) etc etc.
There’s a thing called the FPE project. We did it last year and we’re gonna do it again this year! Info on this can be found: http://fpeproject.com/post/137912372293/j%C3%B8in-the-fpe-pr%C3%B8ject-we-are-the-few-the-proud
Wear something comfortable and light - it will get hot inside the venue! also when the concert finishes it can be quite cold, (especially with temperamental Auckland weather!) so if you have a light cardigan or jumper you want to wear then wear that - it gives you an extra layer of warmth without being super bulky! Wear comfortable shoes too and if you have long hair then bring a hair tie with you! (I can’t stress this one enough!)
Bring at least $50 for merch! It will be really expensive so come prepared! Bring cash as opposed to a card, it will be easier to carry and that way you’re prepared in case EFTPOS doesn’t work! (I know for Paramore they had a merch cart outside the venue and I’m picking they’ll do a similar thing with TØP. Bring enough money for merch too!! Shirts average around $50
If you’re not a fan of the big crowds just stand off to the side a little.
Be aware of what’s going on around you and look out for yourself (and other people!). Respect is key!
Respect the security guards! They are there to keep you safe and if you’re nice to them, chances are they’ll be nice to you!
Bring earplugs!!! Even if you only wear them for the opening act, bring them and wear them! Save your hearing for TOP - it gets very loud inside the venue and it’s better to protect your ears even if it’s for just a little bit!
Talk to people in the line! We met some rad people last time and it’s always fun if you get to know the people around you!
But most of all, just relax, have fun and enjoy the show - TØP puts on a really great live performance!!
If I’ve missed anything or if you want me to add anything, flick us a message: http://nzskeletonclique.tumblr.com/ask :)
I’m thinking of making NZ related TØP signs for us to hold up at the concert - so far I have “NZ Clique thinks you’re sick as frick” - any other suggestions?
Hi everyone! I’m Sarah (technicolourstereo), I’m 17, from New Zealand and I’m really into art, photography and music. I love pvris with all my heart but some of my other favourite bands include all time low, twenty one pilots, anberlin and pierce the veil (amongst others). I play the flute and I really like coffee. I also speak a little bit of Spanish but I’m not fluent. Also, vinyl records are the bomb dot com.
