DETROIT INDEPENDENT FILMMAKERS - NEED YOUR HELP!
My name is Kristian R. Hill, and I am from Detroit, Michigan.
> I grew up in the 80’s on the westside where I fell in love with the music of the times.
>
> Songs like “Alleys Of Your Mind” By Cybertron and “Sharivari” by A number of Names opened up a world of sound that I was inspired to explore.
>
> Now, 25 years later, I’m working with a team of independent filmmakers and fellow Detroiters; David Grandison, Scott Chennault and Jennifer Washington… traveling near and far to global hotspots documenting the impact of Detroit’s musical legacy on electronic dance music genre’s ike Techno and House today.
>
> Our next stop is Japan this coming August 23rd, 2012. We have been invited to document the behind-the-scenes lifestyle of the legendary Techno innovator, and fellow Detroiter, Derrick May.
>
> Up until this point, this has been a self-funded project. Now we need your help… We are in the principle photography stage of the project and this is a rare opportunity to capture key footage we need to tell our story.
>
> All moneis donated will go to cover airfare, lenses rental, and other travel expenses for a small production crew. We are committed to the growing movement of spotlighting Detroit’s vibrant music scene and we CANNOT do this without your contributions.
>
> Again, please help by donating what you can so that we can Document Detroit’s contemporary musical legacy to share with the world. We look forward to bringing TechnoMecca:The Detroit Sound Project with you in the near future…

@ This mix was recorded August 5, 2012, as apart of 24 hours of DJ programming for the 7th Annual SCP UR Backpack Music Festival. Parker, among a host of other Detroit DJ's, donated his time and talent to a worthy cause -that generates school supplies for local children. This recording of Detroit DJ/Producer Terrence Parker set from the 2012 Backpack Music Festival was one of the performance jewels of the weekend festival.
Parker displays masterful skill blending genres and sounds on command. He's easily one of the most talented DJ's in the world with his ability to cut, scratch and blend.
Track list coming soon. There is a break 45:15.
I want to thank Judy Shelton and John Collins for putting on an amazing festival and allowing us @ technomecca media access.
