🇷🇺🌊 Powerful Earthquake Strikes Russia’s Far East, Triggers Tsunami
On July 29, 2025 (Jul 30, 2025, at 10:24 am (GMT +11)) , a devastating magnitude 8.7 earthquake struck Russia’s Far East. The shallow quake caused significant damage to buildings, and injuries have already been reported.
Tsunami waves reaching 3–4 meters have hit parts of the Kamchatka Peninsula. In the city of Severo-Kurilsk, a port and a fish processing plant were partially flooded.
Due to the tsunami threat, evacuation orders have been issued not only in Russia but also in Japan 🇯🇵 and Hawaii 🇺🇸. Residents in coastal areas are urged to evacuate and remain calm.
