TED LASSO "DO THE RIGHT-EST THING" [2x03]
It’s really weird how many people Jamie parallels in the series
Like, I started thinking about it because Nate wanted respect and acknowledgement from, among others, his father. Jamie wanted the exact same thing from his father. And for both of them, they became “harder,” meaner people because they thought it would get them that acknowledgement
And, then, I’ll never not be fascinated by Jamie and Rebecca have a portion of their lives dictated by abusive, angry men. And like Nate before, they became cruel people to protect themselves, but it didn’t work for either of them. And they became nicer people through, among others, Ted and Keeley. And let’s not forget Rebecca also has a shitty relationship with her father
Speaking of fathers, Ted and Jamie both have complicated relationships with them, and that has definitely influenced how they treat each other. Ted is the opposite of Jamie’s father, but he also left Jamie to his father (twice). And that sin of being a bystander is the same one he was so worried about being part of the reason his father killed himself (because Ted didn’t say I love you, didn’t remind his dad he was a good father, etc.). And, not for nothing, Ted took Jamie’s words when interacting with his mother “thank you and fuck you”
If all that wasn’t mental enough, he also reflects Phoebe, with her shitty father. I’m not saying that’s one of the reasons Roy softened up towards Jamie, but I’m also not not saying that
Obviously, Jamie and Sam contrast each other heavily with their personalities and closeness to their fathers. The show gave us that one for free
It’s just interesting, y’know?

2x03, Do The Right-est Thing
Roy Kent would 100% take Phoebe and his sister to see 'Six the Musical' live, and you can't change my mind.
He probably thinks it's the greatest stage musical in British theatres in the 21st century; he gets into vigorous debates about which Queen has the best song.

So does Phoebe celebrate Uncle’s Day on Father’s Day because if she does I’m gonna have a breakdown.
