Walk 'em down Wheelers 🔥🔥🔥
if you’re gonna put characters like karen and ted and nancy and jonathan in situations where they realistic should die then let them fucking die jesus christ.
oh right my bad i forgot the only time realism matters is when it comes to making sure gay people don’t get to be with the love of their life because it’s the 80s.
the way it looks like the show is going to be using the wheelers vs the byers to scream ‘conformity is a lie’ is actually insane. like. the wheelers are textbook suburban repression, quiet, cold, everything in its place but no one actually talking, and then the byers show up like a whirlwind of warmth and chaos and emotional honesty. it’s not just contrast, it’s collision. the wheelers’ house is the most performatively ‘normal’ space in the show and then it gets intruded on (lovingly but disruptively) by this non-conforming, emotionally loud family and ep2 just goes full speed and literally tears the place apart. the metaphor is not subtle and i’m obsessed.
The Wheeler Family
First Episode | Last Episode
“ted wheeler gave no signs of being homophobic and canonically wouldn’t even gaf if his son was gay” bro he was an adamant supporter of ronald reagan in the 1980s can we please be so serious rn
I’d like to think Steve Harrington also has beef with Ted Wheeler, not because he’s Nancy’s ex-boyfriend, but because he’s Dustin’s best friend and it’s a whole “I hate who you hate” thing.
