Meet the Team of TEDxMonteCarlo!
Welcome to the Official blog of TEDxMonteCarlo! We are very excited to launch the first of what we hope will be a long and successful future for TEDx in the Principality of Monaco. The event will be held on November 26, 2016, with the mission to connect the community, inspire innovation and foster visionary ideas. We have already been planning for the past six months, and here is the place where you can read about everything that we are working on in expectation of this exciting event!
To start, we would like to introduce you to our diverse and experienced team, whose efforts are making the entire thing possible. All together, we come from 13 different countries and span a total of 10 languages.
Leading the team is licensee and curator Nazanine Matin. Originally from Iran, Nazanine was also the organizer of TEDxIUM in 2014 while pursuing her MBA at the International University of Monaco. Nazanine has brought together our entire team and is inspiring and motivating us all every step along the way.
As Co-Organizer and Speaker Lead, we have Marieke van den Wall Bake (Dutch), who was also a speaker at TEDxIUM . Her experience with the previous event has enabled her to work together with the speakers to give them everything they need to prepare, as she knows first hand what it is like to be a speaker.
On the communications team, we have Tracy Rohan (Irish) who has been responsible for communications, PR, and media. You have probably found this blog from our website, which was designed by team member Rainer Brunotte (German). Rainer is also responsible for all our event branding and graphic design.
While part of the team is focused on promoting the event, another part is dedicated to the event itself, and this is our Production team, led by Yann Coelenbier (French) and assisted by Ediz Erguc (Turkish) and Quinn Pendleton (American). All three have a background in events, and Quinn and Ediz are familiar with the world of the stage as they are both former dancers in the Ballets de Monte Carlo. Amrita Martis (Indian) is responsible for all ticketing, which will go on-sale beginning in September. Marissa Gordon (American) is helping to plan the daily activities, including many fun things for TEDxers to take part in throughout the day.
Nothing could be possible without the sponsorship of our partners, and on this division we have Malina Urbanowicz (Polish) who works together with Nazanine to grow our support from donors. All of our team is coordinated by HR manager Siri Trang Khalsa (American), and all photographs are by team member James Pouliot (American). We are also very happy to have our intern, Alyssa Thevenin (French) who is helping every member of the team and in turn gaining a great experience to take with her as she continues her studies in the fall at SKEMA Business School in Sophia Antipolis. We also have a dedicated “on-call” team made up of Daniela Nosenzo (Italian), Victoria Kuzmina (Russian), Ocean Girard (French), Maximilienne Acquarone (Canadian), and Segolene Boutin (French).
The team couldn’t do it all without the guidance and help of our 7 advisory board members who also dedicate time on a monthly basis to our project and know the ins & outs of the principality. Our advisory members are Annette Anderson (Stars n Bars, Monaco USA), Sandrine Camia (Monaco Convention Bureau), Andrew Gallagher (Moore Stephens) Mark Hillsdon (LikeBike), Axel Hoppenot (Société des Bains de Mer), Yannick Quentel (Monaco Côte d’Azur Business Hub), and Dr. Michael Sagner (Director SARENA Medical Center).
Now that you have met our team, it’s soon time to hear more about our theme and a glimpse at who will be the key part of our TEDx event. Stay tuned next month for a feature on our program. In the meantime, stay updated with our news on Facebook and Twitter!
