you do not deserve this @emotionealie
percy's always been good at keeping a brave face, or at least a blank one. it's a skill she'd always hoped she wouldn't need once she moved out of her parents' house, but here she is: married and still hiding everything she feels. she wonders sometimes if nealie is judging her for these wounds of hers, the ones that were raw in college and still haven't healed over. her parents could never love her for who she was. she'd thought felix did, but now he's... she doesn't know. he says he's happy, but she can see in his eyes that he's discontent. she doesn't know how to fix it; she's certain she's the problem.
he'd certainly be pissed if he saw her now, nursing her third glass of wine while laura's asleep in her room, but he's out of town on business and she deserves some fun, doesn't she? fuck nursing the wine, actually; she knocks back the rest of her glass with frown, that mask of hers slipping. of course she doesn't deserve this. but she didn't deserve the childhood she had, either, and that never made her stepmother any nicer to her. "does it matter?" her voice is quiet. she doesn't want to wake her daughter. "i mean, really. i should've seen it coming. i'm..." she shrugs. "me."
you're banned from perceiving me when i talk about contemporary shounen protagonists. closes your eyes.
nahhhh you gotta see them in casual wear like tracksuits and deep cut sweaters and low slung sweatpants and also covered in lipstick stains the color of their eyes

"Did you think of me?"
Jane took a step backwards, her back hitting the ugly, grey hotel room wallpaper, wide eyes on Lilya. "W-what do you mean?"
"Today. All day, ah?" Lilya came closer, unhurried, like this was just a game. "On the ice, before, after."
"No," Jane lied, shaking her head. She could see in Lilya's eyes that she knew Jane wasn't telling the truth.
"Show me." They were close enough now that Jane could smell her; vanilla and cigarettes and the masculine deodorant she used. It made Jane's head swim. Why had she even come here? She knew it was wrong.
