NATURE'S WAY - A shoulder injury has prevented me from being able to paint for over 6 weeks now. Many apologies to my loyal customers waiting for commissioned pieces to be finished. I''ve just managed to complete a couple of sketches by working for an hour each day. Hopefully, in the next few weeks, I'll be able to hold a brush and pallette without my hands going numb. WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD : Toni Wells' First Solo Exhibit at the Leamington Arts Centre, April - June. Opening  Reception & Awards: Thurs April 17, 7-9pm A compilation of paintings, watercolours, and drawings of the natural world with warm and bright layers of colours, textures, and patterns.  Like the song, this show is designed to remind us all that despite the ugliness in this world and our increasingly stressful lives, we need to stop once in awhile to just enjoy the world around us – blue skies, roses, rainbows, the warmth and friendliness of people, and this exhibit.   Toni is a member of The Windsor Arts Council, Artcite Inc., The Arts and Cultural Alliance, The Leamington Arts Centre, and The Area Representational Artists Group in Windsor. MOUNTAIN MAN - a little ballpoint pen sketch that I finished while on vaca. Sketching with a pen since I was 16 years old and relying on it for so many years when I could afford little else to draw with, this technique will always be my first love. In my own little fantasy world, these three panels represent "Prime Properties available for Immediate Possession by the Fae Folk." The top is a Meadow Mansion with lovely moss landscaping. To the left is a Quaint Log Home complete with a front yard gathering circle for evening get togethers. To the right is a Truffle Tree House beautifully decorated with Lychens for that discerning home owner. All inspired by the lush and colourful Mongahelena Forest in West Virginia. "Dandelion Den" is just a preliminary sketch but the burrow will be located in the blank space in the lower right quadrant under the log.
