ok so today at work my upper-intermediates & I were doing vocab work & one of the new words was ‘goose down’ as in a goose down pillow & I asked them if they knew what it meant and there they were trying to put those two very normal and familiar words together in some sort of context & not even coming close

& then this one kid is like 

“goose down... like... when you have a goose... and it... falls... down?”

and i stg i literally doubled over i was laughing so hard i think i scared the shit out of him
