Sanders Sides as danger noodles. The sneks I choose for each side would be mainly based on looks but sometimes based on personality as well. Also, none of the pictures are mine🙃
Roman:
Eastern Hognoses
They are known to be quite dramatic when they are trying to play dead...
Patton:
Have you seen the blue morph of the Green Tree Python?
...Patton because blue colour
Janus:
Mangrove Snake
Again... because colour
Remus:
Tentacled snake
Because tentacles
Virgil:
This... not gonna lie was more difficult than the rest but... bullsnake
It can hiss quite loudly tbh. Also can be feisty.
Logan:
No matter how much I love danger noodles, I have to admit they are not that bright. Thus, I don't think any snake would be logical enough for Logic. It's still a reptile soo... Argentine Black and White Tegu
This may very well be one of the smartest lizards ever... maybe. Also they are adorable so there's a plus.
Hope you enjoyed the noodles and the one lizard😊
He is not a fan of Toasty...
Pockets making himself at home in the skull of his ancestors..
Throwback Thursday!
This little nubby Colombian tegu was one of our rescues back when we were still based out of New York state about eleven years ago. We actually happened upon him in a mom n pop pet store in Danbury, CT, where he was being housed very inappropriately, was thin and dehydrated, and had constricted shed around all his toes. After a long talk with the store owner, she agreed to surrender him to us, admitting that she didn't know much about their care and hadn't been able to find a buyer due to his poor temperament. We got this little guy in as good of health as we could, but he unfortunately lost all of his toes on all four feet - unfortunate for a species that likes to burrow.
At the time, we did not know we would be moving to a property in Alabama with plenty of space for a full grown tegu, and knew we could not house him long term, so once he was all clear medically he was transferred to a reptile rescue and sanctuary in upstate New York.
Colombian tegus are less popular in the pet trade than the more popular Argentine, and are not known for the sweet, tame dispositions you see in frequently handled Argentines. They grow to about three feet, and three feet of not particularly friendly lizard is more than many owners can handle. Tegus in general are a huge commitment in space, time, food bill, etc. and really shouldn't be available for casual sale at pet stores.
Big tegu chomp
