This took me 7 freaking hours...

Aqua!Raevyn!!!

From top left to bottom right we have different outfits/stages of her outfit.

First, we have her uniform when she first joined the Orville with the most sun/light protection possible with a headscarf, poncho and very dark sunglasses (and space-age sunscreen). Second, we have less dark sunglasses and freckles starting to develop. Third, Raevyn is used to light & the sun enough to take off the headscarf but she still keeps the sunglasses to protect her eyes. She can also take the poncho/cape off by now when she's on the ship, which is the fourth picture. Second to last is her regular uniform. By now, her skin has darkened and she has freckles all over her body. The last picture is the jumpsuit underneath her uniform jacket. It's made so that she can swim really well in it, exposing her gills.

As for what inspired me, the idea to have a jumpsuit with something flowy for the top came from @duxduxdux's TOS uniform redesign - check it out, it's awesome. The wrapped side comes from Kirk's green uniform. Mainly, this uses the color scheme of adjutants' uniforms on The Orville. Have some more inspo pics I found on Pinterest and Bing's image search:

My creativity is back!!!

I decided to finally work out more of Raevyn’s baton/staff that she carries around. It’s a weapon from her home planet that everyone carries. After her first one got damaged in the Battle of Earth during her first timeline, she would normally have been shunned from Tehiko society. But John immediately offered to make her a new one from the parts of the old one. She cried so much over it and he couldn’t really understand. Once Isaac was back and could help, they quickly came up with a way to create a new baton from the old one. This time, against the usual custom, Raevyn picked the engravings herself:

The serial number of the Orville, in Tedjem letters, the language of the water tribes which Raevyn is secretly a halfblood of.

The baton has multiple different modes, functioning via a form of energy projection. It uses the immensely strong electricity generated by Tehiko to power a form of matter synthesis, creating a semi-solid kind of matter. It is among the only things related to electricity that can hurt a Tehiko. It can however not kill them

Its most basic and also deadliest form is the narrow blade encased in the baton than can shoot outward, turning the baton into a dagger. The blade can also be coated in the electric matter

One of Raevyn’s most frequently used modes is that of an electric whip (that looks better if you tap on the image)

I'll definitely make the spear form and maybe a sword form. Maybe I'll do a closeup of Raevyn’s earring after that!

As requested, allow me to introduce to you... Raevyn in her personalized Tehiko armor. This accidentally turned into one of the most complicated drawings I've ever done. Please click on the image, Tumblr resizes it into a ridiculous state. Also, please zoom in for the details. There are lots of them.

From top to bottom, we have:

Her hairstyle is a "humanized", as she would call it, version of traditional Tehiko hairstyles. First of all, I'm very proud of how I managed to draw the messiness and curly-waviness. I took the Tehiko approach of braids with metal jewelry. One braid goes from about her eye level to her ponytail and is decorated with metal rings. The ponytail itself is something she picked up from humans and the two strands left out are a nod to Alara. A second, thicker braid is wrapped around the ponytail and has a chain woven into it.

Her earpiece is, of course, still there, now with more detail. Now there's also a darker gemstone hanging from it. I'll explain the cultural importance of dangling parts on earrings in another post.

The whole collar and shoulder area is a reference to Union uniforms with the way the collar is shaped and accented, the rank insignia and the red in general in reference to Union's security red.

Lots of the armor is made up of small individual panels. This is because the fighting style of Tehiko requires lots of flexibility. So if something needs to be protected with metal instead of the dark grey, leather-like fabric you can see, Tehiko use special, advanced armor with panels that move with the wearer.

The baton. Also something I'll probably have to describe in a different post. To make things short, it's a weapon. Please take a moment to appreciate the crystals on both ends. I'm so freaking proud of those. The engraving in the handle reads ECV-197 in Tehika letters. ECV-197 is the serial number of the USS Orville.

My babies got married!!!

They're wedding was held with a mix of traditional Human and Tehiko customs. Gordon is wearing a suit to represent Earth and Raevyn got him a Tehiko earring. Raevyn stuck with Tehiko clothing but decided to wear an almost white color in a hint to old Western Earth culture.

Most of the engravings are just decorations, but there are two next to the eye-esque one at the tip that are M and R (Maumahara Raevyn) in simplified Tehiko letters (the ones commonly used) and a third one below the light diodes that spells C (Caelia, her middle name).
