Hello, everyone! I'm Evie (she/they) and this is my multifandom cave of wonders. I reblog lots of stuff and I collect OCs like pokémon cards. The plot bunnies just keep coming. If you're looking for fanfiction, art, and the occasional photopea edit, you've come to the right place! My askbox is always open! I speak German, English and Spanish, feel free to use whatever language you like!
Also, I'm totally normal about my babies and their fandoms, I swear...
OC Masterlist (still working on getting everyone a good visual)
Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).
When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".
When the boat is still being built, your say "it".
When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".
When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".
When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.
If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").
If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")
If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").
If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.
If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.
I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.
As someone who read the Odyssey translation all the way through, I note that Odysseus's bow was not a standard Greek bow (whatever those were like). It was a storied bow that went through many illustrious hands before being gifted to him, that originated with the steppe nomads--i.e., it was a Scythian horse bow. A composite bow that is impossible to string if you don't know the trick of it. Blum doesn't mention that, but his brief diagram was that of a composite bow, so I assume he knows that.
Also the axe heads thing? That was a test of accuracy and adequate draw, not armor-piercing. Axe heads had a hole through them for mounting on the haft. Line up twelve of those with the holes in a line, and you have to shoot very straight to go through all 12 holes. Also the bow has to be correctly drawn or the arrow will drop during flight due to lack of kinetic energy and fail to go through all 12 holes. Arrows from a partially-drawn bow (lack of strength), or badly-strung bow (as demonstrated) won't fly straight and true.
Hello hello, i am back with another silly little story for my massive bg3 au. This times its how one of my ocs wouldve been introduced in game should she have been a real character!
This isnt proof read, english isnt my first language, all mistakes are my own but who cares, I am being self indulgent

Travelling through the underdark has been nothing but uneventful. Every way they turn, the group runs into something else that needs to be fought or avoided. Not to say that Kaidan doesn't know what he is doing, but a peaceful day where they'd simply explore without any bad things happening would be a nice change of pace if you ask Gale.
The flora is very interesting to the wizard, occasionally he will point at something and start rambling about it. Questions sometimes leaving one of his companions he is currently travelling with. Ranging from Shadowheart asking about the flowers to Astarion wondering what would be the most useful to use for a poison. Kaidan would sometimes even be the one to point at something and ask Gale what it is.
If this is the most peaceful day they'll get, Gale will gladly take it.
They round a corner, Kaidan having spotted something that he felt the need to explore. The paladin suddenly darts ahead, the other three need to quicken their step in order to even try and catch up.
All of a sudden they hear the distinct sound of an armored person hitting the ground. A groan following. Gale is the first person to see Kaidan being pinned to the ground, a sword against his throat. The sword is being held by a woman clad in armor, she is half straddling Kaidan.
"Not a word, and I suggest your companions keep their distance as well," The woman's eyes dont leave Kaidan's face, but makes it known she is very aware of Astarion, Gale and Shadowheart. "There is no need for things to get bloody hm?"
There is a glint in Kaidan's eyes, one Gale has grown quite familiar with. Determination. Yet there is something else as well. Kaidan doesn't appear to be in a hurry to throw this stranger threathening his life off him.
"I was just about to say the same thing," the paladin's voice cuts through, and with one swift move Kaidan twists the arm of the woman and switches their position. The sword getting stabbed right next to her face into the ground. Kaidan leans on it with a smirk.
Gale's breath hitches, it shouldn't be that hot to see Kaidan manhandle people. But it stirs something in the wizard's chest. Maybe he should unpack that later.
"Care to tell me what you're doing in the underdark?" Kaidan's question makes Gale snap out of his thoughts.
"As of right now? I'm admiring the view, pretty boy," The woman smirks back up at Kaidan, a hand travelling up to rest on his thigh, playing with the cloth he keeps wrapped around his waist.
A soft chuckle escapes Kaidan, he adjusts the way he is straddling her, leaning more of his weight on the sword instead of on the woman. "Flattery won't make me get off you, and it certainly won't get you your sword back,"
"A shame, really,"
"Sure is, now tell me and you will be honest- why are you actually here?"
The two are having a conversation as if they know each other, Gale notes. And he isn't the only one who has picked up on it, Shadowheart and Astarion have also become aware of this.
"Care to explain what is going on here?" Astarion butts into the conversation, making both Kaidan and the woman look at him.
"I would tell you all about it, if Kaidan decides to move his heavy self off me-"
"Excuse you, i am not heavy- I am not even sitting on you!"
Gale holds his hands up, "How about we focus on one thing at a time, yes?" Finally having found his voice and hoping he can squash the up coming argument before it even has the chance to escalate.
Kaidan shoots Gale a smile, one that warms Gale's heart in an instant.
"Very well," The paladin stands up, taking the sword with him and extending a hand to help the woman to her feet. Which she happily accepts, once she is also standing she makes a move to snatch her sword back. Apparently Kaidan had predicted she would try this and immediately holds the sword above his head and far out of her reach.
Before it can become a goose chase, Kaidan hands the sword to Gale.
"Hold this for me please Gale, and don't give it to her,"
Gale takes the sword and looks it over, its certainly unique, one of a kind, used and loved if the scratches are anything to go off. He then looks at the woman, her green emerald eyes piercing his own brown ones. She appears to be pouting. Gale is about to speak up and tell her that pouting won't make him give it to her. But Kaidan is already a step ahead, always is.
"Now, where were we?" Kaidan crosses his arms, raising a brow when the woman sighs in frustration.
The woman stops pouting at Gale and instead focuses her attention back on the paladin. Gale lets out a breath, gods those eyes seemed to be staring right through his very soul.
"Well, you wanted to know why I am here,"
"Correct,"
A snort, "Gods you are just as insufferable as I remember you being. Well, if you must know my sweet little paladin, I've been sent here to collect ingredients to take back to Baldur's gate. Back home,"
"Why would you need-"
A throb in all their heads causes them to groan and hiss in pain, their tadpoles connecting with the one that is apparently squirming around in the woman's skull. Flashes of memories of Baldur's gate, a voice telling her to fetch things in the underdark in the hopes this would cure her from the tadpole. A muttered prayer to Ilmater before the connection severs.
"Fuck! What was that?" The woman exclaims, holding her head while glaring daggers at the four of them.
"You're infected with an Ilithid parasite as well," Shadowheart states the obvious, they had all felt the worms connect.
"Damned and doomed," The woman sighs dramatically. "That thing is the actual reason I'm here, but you already saw that,"
Kaidan looks at them all with an unreadable expression before his face lights up.
"You should travel with us Brooklyn, we've been trying to find a cure for that damned thing and so have you,"
'Brooklyn' the woman's identity now being revealed, seems to tense up for a moment before allowing her body to relax.
"Very well," She moves over to where Gale is still standing with her sword in his hands, holding up her hands, she makes a motion with them to the wizard to hand it back to her.
"My sword please, dearest Wizard of Kaidan," Gale's cheeks flush a little, he gives her the sword back without making a fuss. She smirks at him, her eyes twinkling dangerously.
"I'm Brooklyn, but you knew that already thanks to Kaidan being unable to keep things to himself." This earned a soft protest from Kaidan behind them.
Clearing his throat, Gale adjusts himself, "Gale of Waterdeep,"
"Shadowheart,"
"The name's Astarion,"
One by one they introduce themselves, and she nods after each name. A soft smile on her face when Kaidan closes in and puts a hand on her shoulder.
"Now that you know everyone, we best get moving. Back to camp where there are more people to be met."
Brooklyn turns around and smacks Kaidan straight in the chest. "Good, I've been dying to be around people again."
Old friends, Gale realises the two bicker and banter as. Another ally Kaidan seems to know from childhood. How many more will they bump into he wonders..
this one will have hair, maybe a cape of some sort, and possibly mechanical wings, but i'm not quite sure how i'll approach any of those things, so i'm posting her as she currently is. i've really enjoyed doing projects that involve both making the base sculpt and a fair bit of post-printing customization, and painting & adding details to this doll was mega fun to spend my weekend on. the sculpt itself just kind of happened; couldn't exactly tell you why she is a steampunk violin demon girl, except that it was what i found fun in the moment.
