What do I think about Ling Xiaoyu's Yamashita art?
I can see the artist's interpretation here, but I cannot say I enjoy the art so much altogether. Not for what the expected nature of the artist's work is illustrated here, but the choice of outfit and "it's sexualisation" here diiiidn't exactly work out for the character. That said, it would've been better if Shunya Yamashita had picked another outfit (see. Xiao's TK6 P2 appearence) for the artwork but the real meat here is the usage for the character portraits in Tag 2. Assuming the whole character doesn't get crammed in the portrait but just the upper body, I think the artwork actually does a fine job at portraying the character a bit differently. I do not remember a single character portrait where Xiao was not smiling, having a small smirk on her face or just being happy-face, so the art bringing out a different artistic approach with that pose is refreshing and cool. As for the rest? Well, Tomio Fujisawa definitely nailed it. Junny? Not so much, but it had the right direction.
