Just to cash in on the grind fiction resurgence, here's the OC I created at some point in early 2009 that led to me really delving heavily into that style creatively

Funny story, the original original version of Bomb was about as purified "grindfic" as you can get in terms of inspiration; the character design essentially being a corrupted version of what I remembered of Beat and Cube after years of having not played JSRF, combined with Shiki Misaki as seen on a dark lo-fi JPEG of The World Ends With You on a CRT computer screen And her original name was "Rhyth" (lifted directly from Rhyth from Jet Set Radio Future)
And the story she debuted in was named Teknopathe_tik

I had a good bit of fun with the 2009 version of Teknopathe_tik. I've often likened it to "my personal" Dark Side of the Moon, and if anything I'd call it a bizarro arthouse version of Jet Set Radio Future x The World Ends With You x FLCL
I've never written it precisely because I don't know how one even would! But at some point, I may try my hand at it. But in more modern times, it's become 58th State which crosses over way harder into the "2000s nerdcore" style I mentioned (and yet ironically actually takes up more inspiration from The Warriors than the original version did)

Real name: Arisbet, a Euro-Spanish/French girl who is also dead and basically a part-time Grim Reaper, because it turns out: she's dead. But that's no object for her anymore, for as long as her brother can keep her summoned indefinitely and she does more of this brutal work for some renegade angel running a mysterious upscale academy.
Character wise, she was more of a cross between Jet Set Radio Future's Cube, Tommy Vercetti, and Alexander DeLarge— ruthless, irreverent, violent, ambitious, and absolutely unhinged, but often playing the role of cute girl when not a rudie-style punk. A living dead girl, to quote Rob Zombie.
You know she could probably be a Persona character now that I think about it.
