Malkah here is a character rather heavily based on me but is decidedly also not me.

She is literally a trans-species Therian Zork-girl trying to live her life along with the general shenanigans of Rotomblr.

She wasn’t always this way though! She does have a past, character-wise, of being a self-insert faller, thus the tags, but she’s changed a lot since then!

Suddenly… Rivka’s vitals flatline.

It… checks the monitoring equipment, with Maya and the nurses quietly trying to hold faer away.

It’s still connected. And was working perfectly a second ago.

Fae grooms her kit’s fur for a moment. Just the head fluff, as the rest is almost buried beneath… everything.

Blankets and EKG wires and oxygen tubing…

She is still.

Quiet.

Silent of life.

Without breath. Without a pulse.

…

The realisation hits.

Malkah slowly eases herself onto the floor, the video increasingly g̴l̷i̵t̴c̸h̴i̸n̷g̸ ̴b̶l̷a̷c̷k̶ ̷o̴v̴e̴r̵ ̷e̷v̸e̷r̶y̵t̵h̸i̸n̵g̶ except the glowing, burning red from her eyes.

A wretched, hollow keening escapes from her throat, mournfully in tune with the winds whipping outside.

You feel another wave of bitter, terrible cold all of a sudden. Even if you are watching this video in a sunbeam on a humid day, it feels like you are in the middle of a snowstorm.

At the end of it all…

Malkah is kneeling, its head in faer arms.

If you look closely… you can see the blood-red tears that track down her snout.

It whispers something…

“Yitgadal v’yitkadash sh’me raba…”
