You will see the future with Google Glass and Telepathy One
When you wear Google Glass and say "OK glass", it starts up and you can watc information in a translucent area on the glass.
This device allows you to take pictures and movies, video chat, navigation, mail, search by voice and translate, etc… Actually Google glass is run by Android OS, and it connects Internet with wifi and bluetooth. Because of tethering with mobile phone, you can connect with Internet everywhere.
Yesterday Google started to deliver Explorer (Beta) version for developers and some medias. Brandon Allgood, who is a user of Explorer version, said that Google glass was light and didn't bother him to use. Also the battery lasts all day. http://android.pandaapp.com/news/04182013/brandon_allgood_first_day_with_google_glass.shtml#.UXFLByt5w2g
Last month, a Japanese entrepreneur announced another wearable device, Telepathy One at SXSW exhibition.
He is Mr.Iguchi, poster boy of AR, the founder of Tonchi Dot in 2008. He announced Sekai Camera with AR technology at Tech Crunch 50 in 2008. This year, he left Tonchi Dot and made a new future device called Telepathy One.
(Mr.Iguchi with Telepathy one)
Telepathy One isn't glasses. It is head mount and ear device. When you wear the device, you can see a 5 inch display because the device reflects a projection to the retina of your eye.
It connects Internet with mobile phone by bluetooth. You can watch pictures, read the Emails, SNS, etc… Basically the features are same as Google Glass. At the moment, it doesn't have a camera but they will add camera when they release it.
At SXSW, many people tried the device. It surprised them, "Wow!" "Incredible!".
Google and Telepathy will release their devices at the end of this year. Google Glass will cost 1,500 USD or less and Telepathy One will be cheaper price than Google Glass.
Actually they will have a new platform like App Store and Google Play.
Developers will release their apps users will have more interesting experiences. It has big marke potential.
Furthermore, now they are glasses, but they will be smaller like contact lens in the future. The future is closer than you think.
