WHILE HAKURI WAS PERHAPS OVER-EAGER TO GET started on his training with his newfound discovery that he was, in fact, capable of wielding more than one of his family's powers (suck it, dad), he realized that before he could even begin to hone his powers - he had to start at his rocky foundation. because it was filled with cracks and holes, hakuri needed to learn how to fend for himself without his powers - he needed core strength and technique, and he had no clue where he'd begin to even find a starting line.
he didn't want to rely on chihiro - rather, he wanted to show him how much he could grow, how strong he could get, so hakuri could protect him instead. unfortunately for hakuri, he didn't have many people to rely on that weren't already implicated with chihiro - leaving him at another dead end. no ! it's too early to give up - while it's too late for lunch ! what great ideas ever spurred on an empty stomach ? hakuri spots a meat-bun specialty shop down the alley and takes one step forward, when what seems like everything happens all at once.
from an adjacent alleyway emerges a flurry of bodies - what ?! that all seemed to be attacking - one guy ?! the supposed target turned single assailant against their attackers. hakuri stands back, both aghast yet completely mesmerized. his bright blonde hair is easy to keep track of in the scurry, what amazes hakuri the most is how adept they are at utilizing their surroundings to their advantage - not to mention their general skill ! the fight ends as quickly as it started, hakuri is moving before he can realize.
« wait, wait, wait, you were at a total disadvantage - how, how, how ! did you just beat - one, two, three, four, five ?! guys all by yourself ?! that was… » he's out of breath - hakuri can't believe what he saw. maybe… maybe,
« could you show - er, give me a few pointers, at least ? »
