A glitch's perspective of them

I had loads of fun trying to think of how the Destroyer would think of these little guys: who'd it make? Who would be excluded and why? How would it treat the plush afterwards? When did the Destroyer make them? How will the Destroyer's deteriorating body and mind affect its craft?

I've given them all signs that they were well loved [or not at all] by the Destroyer. Cosmo frequent restitching thanks to getting played with more, Rust being battered and bruised since he gets thrown around, Dancer and Cosmo both having blue stitching since the Destroyed couldn't change the color of its thread that day, Nightmare having good stitch lines since he was one of the first to be made, Ink having visible stitching and his old eye colors, ??? being the newest having his colors completely wrong. All little details that I love drawing that speak about who the Destroyer is and was as a person.

Specifically I really liked making Horror as a plush. Getting the idea that stuffing would pour out of his skull was really fun to make. Giving Horror more plush-like eyes was particularly fun since it gives of the vibe that Horror's plush is "less then" the rest of them, that he's only Nightmare's pet and nothing more. He and Nightmare are easily my two favorites.

I was wondering if Error could do his job as destroyer of the multiverse? Or if Ink somehow as to do both (storyless characters made me remember a fanfic where Ink did exactly that.)

The Destroyer and Ink actually work really well together! [even if the Destroyer is unaware of this].

"Storyless" here refers to people without an AU to go home to, a story, and Ink's targets are exclusive to the storyless. Most of the storyless come from torn apart by the Destroyer itself, and to help them, Ink offers them a place among his palette.

They work well together in the way that they don't make the conscious choice to do so, but the consequence of the actions of the former positively influences the latter.

There is a reason why some people call Ink a vulture.

1. That would be Cosmo! This post briefly mentions it in Cos' second paragraph.

2. and 3. It's kind of showen how the vials work here but I'll give a better description here.

A person's soul is put into the cap of the vial, the magic then drips down into the container of the vial, where it is then stored until use. This could be for fighting, consumption, or company. The soul is not destroyed unless the cap is shattered, even if the container itself is.

These bottled souls keep some of their personalities, but their are a shell of their former selves.

Both the Starlings and Nightfalls are trying to discover a way to bring the person back; neither group has succeeded.

4. That particular comic is complete, but I do have plans to make more of them eventually. Some will include both Nightmare and Dream. But that comic is connected to Telltale's multiverse.

6. Ink thinks of it like friends bullying each other; Nightmare is trying to kill him.

7. That Toriel isn't from any particular place. She could have been from a Swap or maybe a Undertale run; Ink can't remember. He does remember that she was the ruler of her Underground, but it's not like that matters anymore, her story's been wiped clean.

And even if you didn't mention Muffet, I'm still going to talk about her a bit. She was from a Farmtale timeline before it was destroyed.

8. This one might be a little long:

Starlings; Cosmo wanted stop others from losing their homes. His team works closely with the Omega timeline, moving refugees from collapsing or highly corrupted AUs.

Nightfalls; it was an accident at first. Horror walked right through his door without an ounce of sight to his name. After a quick meal, Horror told him about how his world was torn apart and pitied him enough to let him stay for the night, then two, then three... he hasn't stopped collecting strays since.

Ink's Pallette; Ink used to work alone before, the Destroyer wasn't hard to keep up with before. But now, its seemingly lost all kind of restraint as it tears and tears and tears until it collapses out of exhaustion. You'd think for something as old as it would know its limits better.

So you see, it's not his fault! He was out of options.

So, out of options, he just kinda... started bottling people up. Only people without stories of course! Ink wouldn't want to take someone only for the whole story to get messed up. No, Ink just borrows the soul of the Destroyer's victims, the storyless. They need help, and he helped them as they help him.

5. Not good.
