👻What tricks do they play?👻

●Many see him as a throat cut killer. Which.. they wouldn't be wrong. You'd figured at his age he'd have no interest in such childish holidays. However that's where people are wrong.

●He can wander amongst the common idiots and they're all none the wiser. He'll even get a few amused chuckled out of seeing people pathetically trying to imitate him. It's nice be able to go outside without the police immediately being on your trail.

●One of his favorite things to do is leave out Halloween themed puzzle boxes. Just leave them out on the street. They seem like nothing but a normal festive gag. Whoever solves it gets one of two prizes, a useless trinket like a sticker, or a gushing wound on their finger! A game of chance really.

●Fake bugs? Well he has something better. Real ones. Tossing them into a few bags of the people passing by. They like fake ones.. why not take a few real ones? He of course also gives some to the rest of the members of the pact. Namely John.

●Of course, can't go wrong with the classics. Moving things around, creeping up behind people and spooking them, all in good fun. Of course if you or one of the others get mad about any of his antics, he'll brush it off. It's the season for tricks after all isn't it? Why complain. You're always pestering him to participate in the other holidays aren't you?

Let's say Telltale Riddler's S/O has an interest they're really passionate about that other people think is childish, like a game or series made for kids. He notices they never seem to want to discuss it with him, and eventually bring that up. And his S/O just looks kind of sad and says, "Eddie, I love you, but this is something I really care about, and I don't want to hear you tearing it down. I get enough of that from other people." How does he react?

I know how that is! Sometimes you're so scared of the people you love judging you, you hide things they'd welcome with open arms.

You have a hobby. Perhaps it's not the hobby other adults in your orbit really have- it's a game series traditionally targeted at kids. It's bright, it's colorful, it's nostalgic. It makes you happy. Maybe there's more than one interest like that. You'd only mentioned it in passing with other adults your age a handful of times. 4/5 it ended in you being chastised and teased for being into something "for babies."

Eventually, you decided it was better to not discuss it. With anyone.

Eddie was a strict man. Very no-nonsense and zero patience for fools. You knew that when you got together with him. He knew you were a light in his dark and painful life. The two of you made it work despite your differences. Small jokes about you being saccharine sweet and him being dark chocolate.

Sometimes you wondered if he was serious about you being too bright. If he thought you were stupid or childish. The logical part of the brain speaks against that- If he really thought that he'd be gone. But what if it's because he doesn't REALLY know you? It's not like you're telling him about those interests of yours.

All the while, he wonders why you don't mention it. He's not foolish, he sees the games and sees you playing them. It's certainly not his taste, but considering how open you are about other things in your lives, he finds it strange you don't talk about this. At all.

He mentions it. You tell him how you love him but... There shouldn't be a but. There isn't a but- He tells you as much. Has he been tearing into too many people around you? Even if he has been, you should know it doesn't apply to you. They're all... It's different, when it's you. He doesn't think you're childish.

In fact, in a way, he envies how you can take something like this and find happiness from it. For him, nostalgia and the past just makes him ache and mourn. It's a reminder of the light you carry with you and bring to him. Interests such as these are part of you. One part of the wonderful person he's come to let into his heart.

Do, however, expect him to get downright vicious if he catches anyone else tearing you down for it. Venomous, even. How dare you put down the value of... what is it- animal crossing- why are the animals crossing? You know what, doesn't matter. The point is, they need to shut the fuck up, you love it and that's what he cares about.

His eyes watched as their figure attempted to crawl out of his sight, though through the piss poor attempts at holding back their tears he could track exactly where they'd managed to shimmy off towards. It was a damn pity they were almost to the door too.

He scoffed at the stupid idea of an escape plan.

He knew he wasnt a kind man, a caring boss, or a good 'husband' but he prided himself on being a conniving son of a bitch.

He took three long strides forward and without hesitation-

The sound of cracking bones followed by the wails of his partner echoed disharmonically in the empty excuse of a home he could provide them. Their head hit the ground close to their now broken hand as they blew at it desperately to cool down the horrible fire swelling inside.

"Have I or have I not-" he forced their face to look up at his own from the ground, the sharp blade of his cane forced into their flesh.

They whimpered. He continued.

"-told you not to attempt and escape from me?" They weren't given a chance to answer before he knelt down n disagreement with his back to pick them up by their collar.

"Listen to me."

They looked at him horrified to find he had no trace of malice in his eyes, only a look of deep- frustrated, concern.

"You are never leaving me, for as much time as I have left in this hellhole you will stay with me." He dropped them abruptly. Then he flashed them the ring on his finger.

"IF this means nothing to you, go out on the street and proclaim it! You think the schmucks of this town would give you one shred of consideration if you weren't with me?" He bent down to their level, knees popping as he got closer.

"You're mine. Say it back."

"Im yours."

He smiled tightly before helping them, and himself back up. With a hand to the small of their back he ushered them along.

A/N: Oohh this will be interesting, technically in the game, and because I’m a big nerd that likes to keep SOME stuff consistent, he’s in Santa Prisca Prison, but regardless you’re meeting him in a highly secured institution (highly secured used lightly lol 😂) Also I went super angsty here, because this Eddie is fairly more serious and cynical than most and I wanted to sorta switch up the tones for these drabbles. I hope you enjoy!

Telltale Riddler - Arkham Visit

"Hey Eddie…" 

"What the hell are you doing here?" 

This wasn't a place for you. You shouldn't be here. You shouldn't see him like this. 

Locked up, dressed in a dull off white shirt and pants. Handcuffed and through bullet proof glass

..you really shouldn't be here. 

"This isn't-you shouldn’t..ugh…why do you do this?” 

“Do what?” 

“You know what–don’t act foolish! You deliberately disobey me!” 

Well, this wasn’t exactly the welcome you were expecting. 

“Well excuse me for wanting to see you! For checking in!” 

Edward groaned. He turned his back on you, frustratingly, he slowly swiped his long face with his hand.

“There is no…need for you to…check in on me.” He grumbled. 

“Why is it such a big deal? I told you nothing was going to turn me away from you.”

“Yes, I’m quite aware…especially now.” 

Silence. A stalemate. 

You hated arguing with him, one because he never let up unless he was victor…he had to be right. Even worse, when he didn’t see a way to win the argument, he just shut down. 

“Look, I, I get it. This is your weird way of protecting me, by pushing me away. You told me not to look back or come for you, but I am my own person. I can make my own decisions. Whether you think they are stupid or not…I wanted to do this. I wanted to come here and check on you.”

His back was still turned away, you couldn’t see the small furrow of his eyebrows as he considered what you said. Ah yes, you did have a point. Not that he was quick to ever admit that to you. 

When he still refused to acknowledge you, you couldn’t help but scoff. 

“You know what,” you began backing away from the glass, distancing yourself away from him. “Maybe…maybe you’re right.” 

You stepped further back, slowly turning around away from the glass. Waiting, looking for any sign from him to stop you from leaving him. 

You’ve always threatened to leave him, they were mostly empty and a warning for him that he was on your last nerve. You wished you guys were back to that, playfully bantering, even if he was annoyed when The Pact did it. He didn’t mind when you did it. 

The silence continue to hang in the air for what felt like hours, but it was only a few minutes. You breathed in and out, waiting, hoping. 

Nothing. He still didn’t say a damn thing. 

You tried your best to swallow down your cries and keep your tears at bay. You won’t…no…you can’t cry over him. He’s made his bed now it’s time for him to lie in it. While you go and make your own. 

“Okay, you were right as always…coming here…seeing you. All of it was a mistake.” 

You turned around and began walking away. It felt like stones were tied to your feet as you trudged down the long corridor. 

Out of the room, out of the facility, away from Edward.

Telltale Riddler - Reader Gets Kidnapped Headcanons

Edward’s fuming, steam could practically pour out of his ears. 

Edward did everything in his power to ensure your safety. 

It had to have been you, how many times has he reprimanded you to be careful. 

Certainly, it was your fault, always careless, always reckless and restless…

Edward’s quick to tap away at his various computers and monitors. 

Trying to distract himself from the why and just focus on how to get you back…

A puzzle for the Riddler, just who did this person think they were dealing with?

How did they find out about you? How did they know you were connected to him? Who could possibly want to get back at him this way? 

Edward shakes his head and roars a frustrated growl. 

There’s no time! He has to figure out your location, those questions can be answered later…

It’s his fault…he knew better, he always knew better. Edward Nygma knew better and more than most. 

You wouldn’t be in this situation had you not been in a relationship with him. 

He should’ve just pushed you away like everyone else that didn’t serve an immediate purpose to his crimes. 

Edward almost punches the screen until the loading progress bar reached the end and a green check mark popped up. 

The numbers…the coordinates…possibly your location showed up on screen. 

No time for questions, right now his mind was focused on one thing.
