Tember Daviin was born on Coruscant to Taniel & Miren Daviin, both educators on Coruscant. She has one older sister, Aitahea. Aitahea became a Jedi Initiate when Tember was about two years old. Tember was not Force sensitive and progressed through a mostly typical Coruscanti childhood. She’s very bright, imaginative, and active. Her parents understood her need to be active and encouraged her to be adventurous. They found ways to keep her engaged with challenging instruction and she completed her education early. Her closest friend was Prelsiava Tern, a Miralian.
She began piloting as a child with encouragement from her parents, and flew her first starship - under questionable circumstances - at 13. At 16 she took her first assignment on a ship, and at 17 “procured” her own ship, the No Promises. Her parents were concerned, but recognizing her skill and a certain maturity, gave her their permission rather than trying to restrict her behavior.
Tember achieved fame as a pilot and gunslinger rapidly, and is always seen to react with confidence and skill. She’s sharply witty, quick to crack jokes and even throw out a cutting insult at a foe – she regularly accepts the retort of “smartass” as a compliment. Despite her flippant attitude, Tember is fiercely protective of her loved ones, especially her crew and family.
The disparate members of the No Promises’ crew all have close but not uncontentious relationships with their captain. While confident, Tember can be unpredictable and closemouthed about her plans. Though a complicated recovery can usually be pulled off, she’s put herself and her crew at unnecessary risk with her recklessness. She actively avoids dwelling on past decisions, to her detriment.
Tember has generally remained unattached regarding to romantic relationships, despite taking advantage of Corso’s significant crush on her for a while, and has several spurned lovers in her wake.
Fun fact: She can drink both Akaavi and Bowdaar under the table.
