So thanks to Luca sending me a gifset this morning I’ve figured out some of the tweaks for Reese’s bio - what she has now is just a hodgepodge of the bios of ocs I mashed together when I rebooted this oc and it hasn’t really fit properly bc of that so. A couple major changes will be that Reese was a twin - she and her sister were both musical prodigies, same basic childhood and trauma etc. Same refusal to write or perform after their parents’ death leading to their manager becoming increasingly frustrated with them since they were no longer cash cows. The twin (still unnamed) died under vaguely mysterious circumstances while the twins were still in the managers care leading to Reese ending up in the psych ward in Russia where she had her first death via suicide. I’m removing the stint with the adoptive family and the loss of the adopted brother since it works better with a twin anyway. Eventually Reese’s aunt is found in America and she’s sent to stay with the aunt - the black widow & one that extorts Reese for her money and forces her to make herself available to some of the social and political elite predatory types that are in the aunt’s circles. At some point in all this Reese ends up on a yacht in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle with some hoity toity group and ends up drowning when she goes overboard - she’s rescued and resuscitated but this is the point where her psychic abilities -really- get a kickstart - they had always been there but mostly latent or just low level but when she comes back this time they’re on overdrive. She ends up in and out of psych wards and therapy and no one can ever really diagnose her properly bc it’s not just cptsd and after effects of csa and everything else it’s also now full blown psychometry - post and precognition etc. also, before this point she used to sometimes see her sister and talk to her and what not but now she’s seeing other spirits / deceased that no one else can etc. this all just leads to lots of involuntary holds and then ending up with the aunt and then escaping the aunt to the streets and whoever would give her a couch or bed to crash in. At some point art therapy is introduced and one thing leads to another and by the time she comes into what’s left of her inheritance after the aunt used up a bunch of it she has enough of a following for her art that she gets a proper manager / her own team of lawyers and financial advisors etc so that her aunt can’t mess with her money or freedom anymore leading up to the place that Reese generally is in now in modern threads. I’ll do a better / proper bio when I am awake and functioning but yeah. This is a lot more cohesive in general than the mish mash I had previously. Same destination just better roadmap.
